No one is saying he is a potential star at this point. But he is on a rookie deal and showed improvement as he got experience last year. So while there might be players better than him, they are a **** ton more expensive and the Bears are not in a Championship window yet to be forced to address every potential hole on the roster in 1 offseason. So they can afford to see how he plays this year and add depth to team in other areas.
Your QB got sacked more than any other QB in the league last year. That is an undeniable fact. Don't care what you say, protecting JF should have been priority #1, #2, and #3 heading into the offseason.

Spare me the arguments about overpaying etc etc. FA is about overpaying. Bears are making the same mistakes time and time and time again,

Seeing that Carter did not directly contribute to the car crash, it would be real hard for me to find the third, now wouldn't it?

As for me, I was wrong. It seems that there was only smoke about an additional car, including the name of some other football player who had gotten in trouble for racing the week before. I took that and stuff like someone calmly telling Carter to leave on the 911 call as potentially coming from a third car.

My bad. I guess I have to own up to that. I would love to know if the person who made the 911 call was one of the two people who were in the car but didn't die. That would probably answer my question if it were one of them.
It honestly looks like JC and the unnamed occupant in his car do a handshake deal at the window when I watch it. But I’m not sure which car is which anymore lol

Poles said he likes Braxton, but is not against bringing in competition. So if he drafts a LT at 9 best believe he and Braxton will compete. This line is not directed at you, but I explained to another poster that competition may be brought in and Poles didn't shy away from that. Everyone's a genius on here and have never worked in a front office, but their opinion matters most. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Of course, competition is good.

However; I would not expect Poles to draft one of the top LTs at 9, have a competition with Braxton and make the one who lost the swing tackle.

To me, Poles brings in competition and the loser becomes the leader for the RT spot.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  2. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Illinois-Chicago Flames
  2. North Carolina Tar Heels
That's cool. I just think that Brax should (and probably is) penciled in at one of the tackle spots. If you draft Paris or Jones and want to immediately install them in at LT then swing Brax to the right and you're set.
I can live with that.

This is incredibly intelligent posting my IQ is not high to comprehend most of it.

Imagine getting so angry with criticism of the NFL’s worst team that you have to resort to personal insults about a stranger on the internet!

These insults made me realize that your point of view is indeed superior intellectually than mine. Thank you.
You're welcome.

Yep I can see that happening. Second best tackle on the right.

Every time I hear about Braxton Jones and being a "potential star" I am reminded of him being bull-rushed right into Justin Fields lap, and I am thinking, WTF?

Jones had a better pass blocking grade than Sewell did as a rookie at a tougher position.

Why cant that priority still be met via the rest of FA and the draft?

It's almost as if free agents get to decide where they would like to live, raise a family, choose their boss , and choose their situation. Kinda like regular people.
It's as if they think they are actually free to do what they want when they have already been scripted to go by The Script, right @zabavka ?

I don't think the Bears are a lock at all to go T at 9. I can see why people think that way, but Poles isn't afraid to evaluate.

They waited until the 5th to take Braxton last year while knowing damn well they weren't playing Teven at either Tackle spot (right or wrong they never even intended on trying him there).

I could see sign a bargain vet and waiting until one of the three 53-64 picks and taking one there (should they keep those picks of course).

This is a great debate on the Rodgers compensation. I agree with Keyshawn that the Jets should not give up the 13th pick in the draft. But this is a classic example of paying a premium to get what you want now. The Packers don't have to trade Rodgers for several months from a cap perspective. The Jets don't have to have Rodgers for OTAs per se but they do run the risk of the Packers finding another team willing to trade with. But is Rodgers worth a 1st round pick at 40 years old when he may only play 1 more year? Ofcourse not. But how bad do you want him now vs in July?
Cut ties and then force Aaron's next team to pay a 1st rounder to get Lazard.

Green text but this whole Rodgers situation is hilarious.

Just like the last list of draft candidates that fit the Pole's Bears mold – here's some FA options left that could be targets:

OL
Donovan Smith
Germain Ifedi
Greg Senat
Le'Raven Clark

DL
Frank Clark
A'Shawn Robinson
Chris Wormley
Vincent Taylor
Jihad Ward
Carl Nassib
Carlos Watkins
Da'Shawn Hand

And douchebags like you eat it up and continue to go the damn games.

Freezing your ass of to watch another losing effort and self justify "next year", over and over till you die from choaking down too many beers and Polish sausages...
So, just to be clear, you are only here because The Script says for you to be here as an A-hole.

Got'cha

I don't know if he thought he was taking Jones to the be starting LT though. Now that we've got Moore and signed Davis, there's enough to have a top 10 offense if Justin takes the next step. You might say "yea the D-line needs work but I'm going to create an elite unit on offense first" and thus put your premium assets there, which could also be why maybe he's considering Bijan Robinson at #9 (who knows).

That's the way I'd lean actually. Don't skimp offensively just because the defensive line sucks at the moment. If you've got a guy in Johnson or Jones at #9 you think can be your left tackle for the next 10+ years, pull the trigger and let's do this. Spend some later picks upgrading the D-line.

Knowing Poles though, I'm guessing he's got a tackle prospect or two he likes in the late 2nd or early 3rd that can start right away, so i'm still thinking he's eyeing a difference maker on the D-line with the #9 pick.
