Dre'Mont Jones - 51.8 overall, 41.8 run D, 67.3 pass rush, 7 sacks and 45 total pressures in 448 pass rush snaps. 17m a year.

Demarcus Walker - 72.8 overall, 68.7 run D, 67.4 pass rush, 32 total pressures in 274 pass rush snaps. 7m a year.

So why are people crying about us getting an arguably better player at 40% of the cost?

Poona Ford and Yannick need to be signed. They would be a solid upgrade, and then draft a young stud pass rusher or 2 in the top 65. I also wouldn't mind Frank Clark but he probably signs with a contender for a discount.
5'11" Poona Ford and 6'2" Ngakoue?

I could see Poles taking a look at Ngakoue as his production warrants deviating from the prototype, but Poles has been pretty disciplined in his mandate for speed, length, and value, much to CCS's chagrin.

Not sure how many times this has to happen before CCS stops chasing the shiny object.

Best case scenario. One of the Top 4 QB’s is available at #9 and Poles gets calls to trade down.
Would like this, but I don't see this playing out. Colts need a QB, Ballard has to try to save his job. Seahawks are going to take Richardson I believe. Will Anderson to cardinals at 3.

Throwing random scheme fits onto a team doesnt even work in madden.

The issue with free agency is just because these players are signable does not immediately place them onto the Bears roster. Thanks.
It's almost as if free agents get to decide where they would like to live, raise a family, choose their boss , and choose their situation. Kinda like regular people.

Is RT really that big of need? Bears have a good interior and a young potential star in Braxton Jones
Is that a serious question?

Hell yes it's a big need. I thought they might move T.Jenkins over there but after the press conference it's pretty clear is not to move him and to go with Whitehair and Patrick at C. Jenkins can play RT but they like him at RG where he played pretty damn well at when he was healthy.

So what does that say about Chicago?

Every time I hear about Braxton Jones and being a "potential star" I am reminded of him being bull-rushed right into Justin Fields lap, and I am thinking, WTF?

We've been conditioned to love mediocrity, it's the defining trait of being a Bears fan.

I’m sorry but this rhetoric is just tired and false. No GM should go into the draft at pick 9 and base their ENTIRE free agency around getting a specific player. It’s just dumb. You can’t control who will be there.

I agree mcglinchey is mehh but Borom is straight ass.

Poles did nothing in FA so he could force the #9 pick to be a RT???? Is this serious?
Either assure us that 3 LTs are going to be drafted from 1 to 8 or shut the hell up.

Chances are high that all three LT prospects will be on the board, chances are even higher that two of the three top LT prospects will be on the board and chances are near 100% that at least one will be available.

Intelligent posters understand that Poles may draft one of the top 3 LT prospects and move him to play at RT but with the understanding that the prospect could end up at LT if injury or another unexpected event happened.

Sadly, there are many posters who are not intelligent enough to not make the intellectual leap necessary to understand.

This is a great debate on the Rodgers compensation. I agree with Keyshawn that the Jets should not give up the 13th pick in the draft. But this is a classic example of paying a premium to get what you want now. The Packers don't have to trade Rodgers for several months from a cap perspective. The Jets don't have to have Rodgers for OTAs per se but they do run the risk of the Packers finding another team willing to trade with. But is Rodgers worth a 1st round pick at 40 years old when he may only play 1 more year? Ofcourse not. But how bad do you want him now vs in July?

I’d rather see a 6 or 7 win Chicago Bears team next season instead of a fluke 9 or 10win season.

Bears and long term success has rarely gone together since the 80’s.

No one is saying he is a potential star at this point. But he is on a rookie deal and showed improvement as he got experience last year. So while there might be players better than him, they are a **** ton more expensive and the Bears are not in a Championship window yet to be forced to address every potential hole on the roster in 1 offseason. So they can afford to see how he plays this year and add depth to team in other areas.

Wrong again!

Anyone who disagrees with @bamainatlanta , not you, is a dipshit.

Not not really. I argue with a few on here a lot. But if noticed, they tend to articulate in a non-meatball manner.

Btw, did you ever find that third driver that contributed to the car crash deaths? And then after that, can you help us find the shooter on the grassy knoll as well?

Last I heard, Georgia prosecutors were looking for the death penalty for JC. I’ll get back to you when I confirm.
