No. I’m ‘crying’ because the weakest positions on the team going into FA were at DL, C, RT.

Bears still need DL, C, and an RT.

Yes I understand the draft is still coming but you can’t go into a draft expecting to get 4 day 1 starters. It’s foolish.

So yea, lets sign a bunch of mediocre players to big contracts just to appease a guy named toy and sugarwalls on ChiCitySports.

Makes Cents.

OK, and if the plan is to move tev to Right tackle and draft a center in the 2nd, what then?

Considering Tev is a better lineman than McGlinchey that would be a win.
Nice dude so now poles HAS to draft a RT at pick 9, then in the second round he HAS to take a C.

When are we drafting DL?

What if BPA at 9 is a corner? What if the top 2 C go in early round 2??

You see how this kinda falls apart?

Some of you idiots should look these players up on madden that you want.

They are not that good. They commanded a lot of money.

So you wanted to waste the rest of our cap for the next few years going forward on stopgaps at RT and DT?

Makes Cents!

Then when mooney kmet or claypool potentially breaks out we wont be able to sign them. Thats what good GM's do, right?

FYI, poles rebuilt the line for the chiefs with TWO rookies. So yes, it can be done.

Nope, I don't see your logic because there is none.

Signing bad players just to fill a need is as stupid as what you just typed out regarding the draft.

DreMont Jones, Mike McGlinchey, Orlando Brown, etc mediocre players but Edmunds, he's a stud cause the Bears signed him.

All the guys that didn't get signed by the Bears are now all of a sudden mediocre but you geniuses have been talking about them for months leading up to this week.

Shut the **** up, your self justification is pathetic.

Rebuilding through the draft means having a competent team so that you can take BPA throughout the draft.

The bears finished dead last in the NFL last year. They could’ve used a couple of mediocre signings because the players they fielded last year were not mediocre, some were down right replacement level players.

Not saying poles could’ve fixed this team in 1 off season or he should’ve over payed for tons of players, obviously this is not how you build sustained success …. But he needed to add to OL and DL to allow him to take BPA in draft just in case it doesn’t fall absolutely perfectly.

Is RT really that big of need? Bears have a good interior and a young potential star in Braxton Jones

Moreso overpaying guys with big money contracts. McGlinchey wasn't worth what he got, and neither was Dre'Mont Jones. I'm hoping Poles is slow playing this thing looking to score a couple more decent starters on team friendly deals. You just don't want to go into the draft in dire need of a certain position.

Yes, they are mediocre.

Did you even know who Jones was prior to 2 weeks ago? I can almost bet you never heard of him.

McGlinchey is worse than moving teven to RT. Why would you knowingly make your roster worse?

Orlando Brown did not want to play right tackle.

Edmunds has improved every year and is one of the best off ball linebackers in the league. As far as a player goes the only one on that list even close to him in talent/production is Brown.

The Executive director of player personnel does nothing?

He was the college scouting director for a while too.

Poles had NO ROLE in fixing that chiefs oline and drafting mahomie. NONE

Free agency isn't over. Also, I wonder how much some of these dudes that people are pining for just aren't scheme fits for this team. Like Orlando Brown. We would want him as a RT, but he does NOT want to play RT. That's just not a fit at all then.

Then there's Tremaine Edmunds. He appears to be a huge scheme fit for the WILL in Eberflus' defense. Might have contributed to Roquan no longer being here. And then the Bears spending big money on a LB.

I don't know. I'm just not going to freak out yet. If we go into camp with huge glaring holes, then I'll freak out a little bit. But even then, we were 3-14 last year. Not a lot of teams go from worst to first in 1 offseason. I think expectations should be tempered.

Jewels to get a case of Squirt
There were several DL and OL players. Unfortunately I always knew Payne would never make it, but dremont went for much less than initally advertised. Poles could have front loaded a contract and signed him.

Mcglinchey was not that expensive. Same could be said for his contract.

Nope instead he handed a record breaking contract to an ILB. Even though he preached premium positions (yes I know his position is important in flus D).
Dremont was initially advertised at like $8m.

Just watch a full game film of him.

I'd say 90% of the people on here have realistic expectations. Mostly just the same 3-4 people crying daily about the bears not turning into the dodgers or yankees overnight.
