If they were able to land both Buckner and Carter, that would be freakin fantastic. With Billings at the NT and Walker as the rotating DE/DT. Add in the improved LB corps, and this D then looks pretty legit.

Attack OL with both 2nd rd picks.

Said it before-Olu Fashanu should be their top target next year, even over Harrison Jr.

I don't follow your math. Hargrave's cap hit in 2023 = $6,555,000, and 2024 = $15,475,000. Total cap hit for the first 2 years = $22,030,000. All of which are guaranteed. They can release him at the end year of the 2nd year but will incur a dead cap hit of $18,010,000. So it's a 2-year $40M deal that is fully guaranteed.

Yeah my bad. Double counted the SB. But still 17m a year vs 20m albeit plus a draft pick.

It's spelled t-h-e-e
I did a sim taking Bijan at 9. The rest of the picks:
9. Bijan Robinson
53. Gervon Dexter DT
61. Cody Mauch OT
64. Blake Freeland OT
103. Daiyan Henley LB
133. Isiah McGuire EDGE
136. Luke Schoonmaker TE
148. Andrei Iosivas WR
218. Chamarri Conner CB
258. Jason Taylor II S

Do the other picks fill in the gaps the team needs? I went with BPA for needs and RAS over 8.

What current bears DE’s do you think are ahead of him. Walker and who else?

IMO Young would already be our 2nd best DE
Should have clarified I was speaking soley in context of this mock - where they take Foskey who I would have in front of Young as well as 1 of Gipson or Greene who I think would at least start the season ahead of him in this hypothetical.

As for Young while I don't think he is a good fit for this specific mock, I do think he would be a good fit for the current Bears team.

Tonyan could be a sneaky good signing this off-season. I’m so glad CHI didn’t do the Bears thing and throw a bunch of money at a big FA TE
Yep, so glad Poles didn’t sign Engram, Geisicki or Schultz. Don’t spend on TE’s unless it is an elite TE—and there are very few elite TE’s in the league. Someone mentioned here that Kmet will cost get $12 million per and that’s a big fucking no.
