Geno is a free agent, and I think Seattle is the team that would be the most likely to trade up for a QB with Chicago. They have plenty of draft capital as you mention. If things remained how they are right now, I think the Bears would take #4 and #35 and maybe a 5th for #2. That leaves them with either Carter or Anderson and that extra pick at the top of round two. Makes sense for SEA too if they want that QB, small price to pay.The interesting ones to me are the ones that have pretty strong teams but are maybe a QB away. Basically, teams that think they are where Pace thought the Bears were last year.
Washington is going to make the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 years, without a QB. Heineke is solid, but he's also a FA after this year. He and Payne are really the only starters they stand to lose. They have the D. They have the weapons. They have the OL with strong depth. I thought they and the Colts really dropped the ball by not doing that trade for Fields that the Bears did. Instead they each gave up picks for Carson Wentz. LOL.
Seattle is interesting too. They got bookend tackles and CBs in the last draft and typically draft very well. They have the weapons in DK and Lockett. Geno is a FA, I believe. I think they gotta bring him back, but they also have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds and pretty much can get wherever they want to pick in this draft. They don't seem to need the depth/talent to make all of the 6 top 75 picks they will have.
Detroit honestly, is starting to put together a pretty talented team as well. Great OL. Good pair of RBs. St. Brown is a stud, Jameson Williams potentially is. The defense has some talent, led by Hutchinson and Okudah if healthy.
I think Tennessee has to give Ridder a shot. They probably aren't good enough across the board to make the move up from playoffs to top 5 pick for a QB. Atlanta isn't good enough to risk it all for a QB either. If one fell to them, I could see it, but I don't think they trade up.
Carolina, I would say, is a definite for a QB. Mayfield and Darnold are FAs. They aren't terrible talent wise. Got some decent WRs. OL is OK. Need a RB now that McCaffery is gone, but deep FA class. The defense has some pieces with Burns, Brown, Horn and Chinn. It would be smart for them to trade up to develop their own guy instead of trying to fix someone else's failed QB.
Bodes really well for us to secure the 2nd spot, and if we're really lucky, the 1st. Our remaining schedule is:
Why does this fool have the Bears drafting 2nd? Does he not understand everything changes after the bye week? Bears will also win at least one more game, probably ONLY one, but almost can gurantee it.
The simple reality is this IMO. Fields will run less and throw more when the Bears have the talent for him to believe positive outcomes will result from his doing so.
Jimmy G is also a FA,Geno is a free agent, and I think Seattle is the team that would be the most likely to trade up for a QB with Chicago. They have plenty of draft capital as you mention. If things remained how they are right now, I think the Bears would take #4 and #35 and maybe a 5th for #2. That leaves them with either Carter or Anderson and that extra pick at the top of round two. Makes sense for SEA too if they want that QB, small price to pay.
Carolina would be #2, WAS isn't going to have the resources because Poles needs to dramatically improve the talent level next year.
The SEA trade would also screw Detroit.
Yes, everyone knows Detroit can still get the #2 pick.Jimmy G is also a FA,
There is a chance ARod wants a trade, etc.
LA Rams are actually above you in draft order if not for the missing bye week.
Sean Mcvay is considering shutting done Stafford,Kupp, and Aaron Donald. Add to that Ashon Robinson and Allen Robinson are out for season for sure. I do not see them anymore likely to win a game than the Bears, and in all likely hood each team wins one, thus keeping the Rams ahead of the Bears.
Really good read. Interesting that he played his last year in HS with a torn labrum even when he had already signed with Wisconsin. Everyone was telling him to have season ending surgery but he played because it was the last chance he would get to play with his teammates that he grew up with.
Also interesting that TJ Edwards was a mentor of sorts at Wisconsin as he is definitely someone the Bears should look into signing this offseason. It would come full circle if Edwards helped recruit Sanborn to Wisconsin and then Sanborn returns the favor by helping to recruit Edwards to the Bears.
It's not their current draft position because the bye week is a given.Probably because that is their current draft position. Don't think he is trying to make predications based on your guarantees. When the Bears draft position drops then guess what he can change it.
Denver also has the edge over the Bears......remaining opponents:Yes, everyone knows Detroit can still get the #2 pick.
No one gives a fuck about Jimmy G.
None of this has anything to do with my post.
