So are fans over there pretty much resigned to him leaving?
Yes but like you said (?), it’s one of the few franchises that could rival the Bears on incompetence since the mid-90’s, they could bring him back as a franchise player. What would that be @remydat ?

They are, fans here know there's no rational way of bringing him back.... Which means Washington will likely mortgage everything to keep 2 insanely paid defensive tackles, because...Washington.

Washington would rather field an elite front seven than go after a real quarterback. It's been a revolving door here worse than in Chicago the past decade. Wentz costs a fortune, yet their fanbase clamors for Heinicke. It's a fucking mess for them to be so average.

1) Post 6542
2) I didn't say anything about them

So, now go **** yourself with a big stick.

This was uncalled for and quite petty. Please don’t shit all over this very informative thread. Be more mature ma’am.

see post #6587 Thanks in advance.

I am really past the whole "OT" thing and willing to accept that this is more the NFL forum than just the Bears forum, which is why I don't know how this "No Lions talk" thing is supposed to work, but as someone that bans Packer fans for sport...I suppose my arm does not need to be twisted that hard to add the occasional Lions fan into the mix.

Maybe someday they will win enough games for CCS to have more than one of them!

18-19m when Allen's cap hit next year is 21.5m Don't know of a team that has paid close to 40m a year for DTs especially when Sweat likely will want a new deal in 2023 so it will be tough for them.

What they could do is sign Payne long term and have a long cap hit in year 1 and 2 and then look to move Allen after next year given Payne is 2 years younger.

Keep in mind Young's production hasn't lived up to his hype so I would not make decisions on Payne on the assumption they need to sign Young. They could easily decided Payne, Allen and Sweat are the ones to keep.

For this board’s sake I really hope Payne is available. Seems like he’s everyone’s guy. Still not 100% convinced the Commanders let him walk.
Doubt they will bay a 1T money when they got Young and Sweat waiting for a paycheck too. Although if they drop Wentz and don’t have that hanging over their head, could have some cap flexibility.

Exactly, Brisker has been the best rookie safety by a mile. Jones has started every game at left tackle, he's a road grader and has been really solid the past month in pass pro.
Jalen Pitre has been pretty damn good in Houston. He was my favorite S in that class with Brisker a close 2nd.
