But he was talking to the giants...idc what their record was, they weren't a contender
talk is talk but he was drafted by them so i can see that line of communication being open

i would like the move, i just dont see it happening

Yeah I doubt it is either. But I think a good gm could sell him that if he's talking about contending for a super bowl, Dallas and the giants who he was most closely connected with aren't it and with the bears resources there is no reason they can't be to that level before those teams (Dallas in particular has been a pretender for 2 decades).

Dude but that injury history
The only injuries that were significant were the acls. Hopefully the rumors of the second one kind of cleaning up a botched first procedure are true

Funny how you single out Jones when those numbers say he's been the best one, other than Borom who has played 1 game since October 24th.

I mean, I get it. Everyone that's not a sure fire stud should have competition for their starting spot. But I don't understand why the 5th round rookie who has improved every week is the one that people aren't sure on. I've had people arguing that Whitehair should be kept. People are talking about Jenkins being a future all pro. But Jones has been better pure blocking in his 1st NFL season, at the toughest position.
That’s exactly my point. His numbers are the best of a very poor group. That doesn’t mean his numbers are good.

As for Borom, I’ve never said or implied that he is anything more than a backup.

Mustipher sucks, like he always has.

Jenkins is a questionable mark, Whitehair is past his prime.

The whole line is an issue. My point was mostly a response to those who say Jones has been playing at a very high level and has solidified the starting LT spot. He has played ok for a 5th round rookie. Watching tape of him on passing plays gives me concern, but hopeful that he improves.

What’s so dumb about it? They seem pretty spot on and discussing allot of your thoughts on fixing the offense this offseason. Personally not a jeudy fan and not sure Higgins is available. But the offense currently constructed is a one man show it blows
It’s like watching two random CCS posters go at it. They’re not very knowledgeable.

Jenkins is potentially practicing tomorrow, per Eberflus.

That's crazy to me, but glad he's doing good. I'd rather him sit the rest of the season with Sanborn, and get ready for 2023 as one of the building blocks.

Ah ok, but as far as resources go, you aren't going to replace 5 linemen in 1 offseason. LT is an expensive position to add in free agency, the most expensive actually besides QB. They have a rookie performing better than most in pure pass sets and in the run game. Like you said, they have a ? at RG, post prime guy at LG, terrible at C, and backup quality at RT. You give Jenkins and Jones a shot next year because they are young, in their first year playing the positions they are at, and have the potential to outperform their paychecks.

So yeah, competition for LT is way down the list for needs. RT, C, LG, depth at RG and every position are the priorities. They can't find someone good enough to compete with Jones, without using a resource needed to fill the 38 other needs on the roster. So there's not really a point in hoping they do, because it's not very logical when you consider this regime has torn everything down and he's one of the decent looking pieces they've built back up.

Playing against live competition IS getting ready for next year. As long as he’s healthy he needs to be out there getting experience. Along with all the other young guys.

Love how at the beginning of the season Fields himself said stats don't matter only wins and now near season end all the Chicago media and fans can talk about are all the stats and records Fields can break.

What happened to caring about only wins?

idk, I was under the impression that everyone understood the situation this team is in right now? And fans and media started focusing on the future a while ago?

I mean, are you just now realizing the bears have a shit roster?

I spoke to some Bear fans in the preseason who legitimately thought this team would compete, so you never know.

Perfect example of the NFL being rigged.

Don't really need anyone to agree with me, just doing you guys a favor by trying to pry open your closed minds to an alternate viewpoint.

I got permission from a CCS "Hall of Famer" to disagree with the consensus, but I'm still a fucking idiot cause he said so.

No you are a fucking idiot and hypocrite I might add because you want the right to disagree with the consensus but you were suggesting that because Fields cared about wins this year everyone else has to and can't care about records.

Do we not have the right to disagree with Fields and if so then why the **** were you whining about the fact some of us care about the QB rushing record?

Of course, but if there is ANY concern about his neck, let him sit. No need to risk anything with him, he's been our best lineman by a wide margin.

I agree. I have been pretty pleasantly surprised with his play, especially for where he was drafted. But obviously there is room for improvement. You’re right-aside from drafting a T and him being a home run at LT, it will be hard to fill given the other needs. Hopefully Jones is that long term solution.

But they need to start pouring resources into the OL instead of patchworking it together. For example, drafting Skoronski after a trade down is great if the value is there, even if he replaces Whitehair and turns out a Zach Martin like career.

If Fields doesn’t have time to throw, doesn’t matter what WRs they bring in.

Jones-Skoronski-Pocic-Jenkins-Conklin.

They can actually turn around the OL relatively quickly with the resources they have and if they land a few key FAs.

I would rather the bears go Poncic/Jenkins in FA and then trade down and draft Paris Jones Jr.
