Just stop.

Compared to the average human being, sure.

Compared to a starting LT, MiniMe ‘Ski:
- lacks length
- has short arms
- has slow feet
- is short

People legitimately are saying he’s a top ten pick when he doesn’t have the physical attributes. The dude has good technique, but you have to know he’s at least a couple of inches shorter than most LT in the league. Don’t forget, when he’s measured at the combine, he’s probably going to be even shorter and lighter. So, there’s that, too.

Don’t get mad at me for pointing out what the emperor’s wearing. So, yeah, in my opinion, move him all the way inside and let him cook. Let another team burn a high pick on a guy they made a movie about a long time ago, but it starred a horse…
Sorry, didn't realize 6'4" and 315 was SMALL for a LT. Seemed large to me.

Skoronski to me is a sure thing as a guard in the NFL, he will thrive there. The question is, do we trade back to get a guard, when there's a chance we land Elgton Jenkins? Then use that draft capital on pass rush, and WR, positions that aren't very good in free agency? A lot hedges on diva receivers this offseason, as well. Not many thought AJ Brown, Tyreek Hill or Metcalf (obviously he stayed) would come available. Just never know anymore.
I address as much as I can with FA so we have flexibility in the draft. If we can get OL FA then we can go DEF with our first pick, or trade down and get a WR.

Omg this is Nagy verbatim about Mitch vs Mahomes/Watson

Oh God. A statement nobody can disagree with because it completely misses the point.

Zach Wilson is on a playoff caliber team and struggling to grow with the team.

Lawrence is on a growing team and is a big reason why they have a shot at taking their division if Tennessee struggles.

Fields is a growing QB on a shit team but puts up highlight reels.

Trey Lance is still in need of opportunities to show what he has, and Mac Jones has a ways to go to prove he can be consistently efficient and effective the way BB wants to win games.

There, I fairly compared the R1 QBs from the draft with respect to their different situations.

No matter the situation, in this draft I find it very appealing to look at OL with two picks between the second and fourth rounds, with an emphasis on a prospect at center.

I agree. I have been pretty pleasantly surprised with his play, especially for where he was drafted. But obviously there is room for improvement. You’re right-aside from drafting a T and him being a home run at LT, it will be hard to fill given the other needs. Hopefully Jones is that long term solution.

But they need to start pouring resources into the OL instead of patchworking it together. For example, drafting Skoronski after a trade down is great if the value is there, even if he replaces Whitehair and turns out a Zach Martin like career.

If Fields doesn’t have time to throw, doesn’t matter what WRs they bring in.

Jones-Skoronski-Pocic-Jenkins-Conklin.

They can actually turn around the OL relatively quickly with the resources they have and if they land a few key FAs.
Getting the Oline to where it's actually good, probably is a two year project. 2-3 new starters next year, and then another the following year depending on development of the younger guys. Whitehair is just a placeholder in my view.

I like OT in the second round to be honest (we have a chance at Anton Harrison, and Harrison as a good pass blocking RT with Jones at LT has me intrigued). I want the center from Michigan in the 4th.

I'm agnostic about the position of the player you draft - if the player fills an important role for the team, and is one of the best talents available at that pick, you take him and don't apologize. This year, the talent pool available between rounds 2-4 is going to have a lot of OL talent. If Poles gets a good value trading back in the first round, don't be shocked if he targets RB in the top 50.

If the Bears were really only that 3T away from being dominant, I would be all for staying put and getting Carter. But the team has soo many needs and so little depth across the board, I just hope that they find a way to trade down and get a huge haul of picks to accelerate the rebuild and get some more playmakes in several positions instead of just maybe 1 or 2.

I WOULD be shocked if he targeted RB. Herbert was very good before getting hurt, Monty is also very good. Unless you get Bijan (who will certainly go in the first) I'd target other players in the 2nd-4th rounds. RB isn't even on my radar, TBH.

Fair points. We all know Fields is by far in the worst situation of maybe any QB in the NFL, much less this class. If the Niners took him, I think they're heavy favorites in the NFC with that electric offense and dominant defense. Jets would be fun to watch also. We better hope we can surround him with great talent and a competent team.

Hey as a fan I'm all for resigning Monty but right now, we have no idea if there is a different kind of back that the coaches would prefer. There is a lot of RB talent in this draft.

That being said, if I'm Poles and I get the call from Detroit or Seattle and can get both of their first rounders this year... I'm absolutely taking the trade and targeting Robinson. He is an every down and distance kind of RB, and would come with a fifth year option

Fields was 14-21, which is great but he missed 4 easy throws IMO. This is one. He missed Ebner on a swing pass. He missed a deep one on the move to Kmet near the sideline and the play after I believe was the miss on the quick WR screen. This play, on 4th and 3 would have put the Bears in FG range. The Kmet throw would have been a huge play and also put them near FG range.

Actually the Kmet play is here at 9:35. If Kmet can outrun a DB, this is a TD. It's not an "easy" throw per se, but one that a mobile QB needs to make if he's going to play with moving pockets consistently.

Like JT said, Fields has gotta start hitting the layups, 100% of the time. 7 incompletions, 1 was a throwaway, 1 his arm was hit by Reddick, 1 deep miss to Jones Jr. That's an 86% completion day and at least 6 more points in a game they lost by 5. Considering he still had a great QB rating and put up 20 on the best D in the league it's tough to complain, but even without great talent he's on the cusp of being so much more productive.

9ers are probably SB favorites with Fields/that OL/ McCaffery/Deebo/Aiyuk and that D. They’re kicking themselves for sure.
