How much time in the double boiler does it need?

I would give it a few hours. 3 hours being the guide most use.

Some suggest adding soy lecithin, which works as an emulsifier, and aids in the intestinal walls absorbing the medication, but is not necessary.

@truthbedamned - 48 hours ago I inserted a boveda 62% packet into a mason jar with some trimmed buds from a broken branch. The current humidity reading in that jar is 77%, wtf is happening and how should I fix it?

77 is to high for the boveda pack to correct it. Take the buds and put them in a paper bag and shake it GENTLY every so often.

Put your hygrometer in the bag along with the buds. Check the bag every 4 hours or so until the humidity level is at 62 percent or close then move back to the mason jar. How long did you let the buds dry?

So since the fall harvest is almost upon us I thought it would be a good idea to get my tent going again. This time I am doing 2 Jack Herer plants. I thought I would document my successes as well as failures during this grow as I am going to try things such as scrogging to try and maximize yield. I understand indoor pot is better but I get so disappointed when I harvest 4 ounces indoor and a pound outdoor.

So here we go. Seeds were left in distilled water until roots came out. One on the right is iffy. I may have left it to long. We will see.

Feel free to discuss. I will post pics as the season progresses.

I bagged those buds from the fallen branch and the humidity came down below 65, one i returned the buds to the jar the level increased to 68, so they are back in the bag for a while.

Precisely what type of Frankensteining is occurring in the tent of iniquity?

Sounds like you might have jarred them up to early. Boveda can handle anything between about 50 and 70 percent and control it. But if your buds are immediately jumping into the 70's after putting them in the jar they were not dry enough. If I recall you were drying with all the fan leaves on so that will definitely take longer to dry. The stems need to "snap" when you bend them....not just fold over when you are ready to jar them up. Just like a live branch vs a dead branch.

But better to wet than dry.....leave them in the bag until the humidity comes down to 55 or 60 and try again.

I'm on it, thanks. Learning my lessons on the fly.

The big-ass multi-poud harvest is nearly upon us, I'm excited but also dreading the imminent tedious and extensive labor component.

I am going to try scrogging this time. It is a method to fill the entire tent with the same height colas too maximize yield. You put a netting with 2 inch holes all over the tent across the top of the plant and you weave the branches in and out until you have every hole in the netting filled. Then they all create their own colas and triple the amount you get. And it keeps the light within limits. I was up to the top of the tent last year and had to bend some over.

Fascinating! Please continue to blog away here. I may have to retire sooner than expected in order to follow in the footsteps of this Bud Ninja.

How are the buds doing? I am sharpening my scissors. Trimming starts Friday.

Good luck with that, I'm right behind you on the timeline.

The wet buds I had dried in the paper bag back to 62% humidity spiked back up to 67% when I returned them to the mason jar (again), so I put them on another overnight paper bag timeout to see if this time I can keep the humidity levels down in the jar.

But yeah, October is all about a shit-lot of trimming, hanging and drying.

Checked the trachs this morning....still clear, another friend recommended a lop off half a plant now anyway and can then compare & contrast the effects. What would TBD do?

My yard is SOOO dank atm, even more so than a dispensary.

Indica strains need to be harvested milky with as few amber trichs as possible unless you want to be a vegetable. Sativa should be milky with about 30 percent amber. Harvesting while they are clear means they haven't reached their full maturity and word is if you harvest while clear you get a super intense awake high and a citrusy taste that is not very pleasant. I don't like that high myself as it can make the paranoia factor go off the charts. If you want to experiment pull a few colas off and use those to test with. If it was me I am not harvesting until the trichs are milky. Mine stink to high heaven as well. I am getting nasty looks from one of my neighbors who believes pot use turns you into a heroin addict and sends you to hell so I know mine are close. I am taking one down on Saturday and then waiting another week for the next one.

Maybe you can invite your neighbors over for some wine, truffles, and a trimming party:)

P.S. I am abandoning my Mighty Vape until they can figure out just what the hell is going on with people dying from vaping. Gonna go buy a regular ole pot pipe and use that.

Just had a branch break of the stalk for the 4th time, the buds are so fat and heavy that the stalk can barely support some of them.

@TBD - is this a symptom of inadequate topping on my part?

Hell no.. It is a sign you are growing some bad ass buds with heavy colas.?:pI make sure that wherever I plant my plants there is a way to run a string above the plant so I can use these to hold the branches up when they get heavy.
3237:p?

They are called yo yo's and you can get them pretty cheap on Amazon. In a pinch just loosley tie string around the branch and up to the string running over the top of the plants. See below.
3238

They are holding up the really heavy branches. Also if a branch splits just have someone hold it up while you wrap electrical tape around it and in 90 percent of the cases it will be just fine,
