I'm looking for a good thermometer to monitor smoker temp. I'm thinking about this one:

http://www.amazon.com/ThermoWorks-T...F8&qid=1426078309&sr=8-7&keywords=thermoworks

Anyone have any recommendations?

Also, my old POS offset finally bit the dust. I was debating on what to get next and decided to go with the classic Weber premium 22 kettle. I kinda wanted to get a BGE, but I couldn't stomach the cost. Plus all that ceramic is kind of a pain in the ass to move around. Picked up this too, but haven't gotten it yet:

Not sure how well it works, but reviews are solid. Going to take some getting used to, because I've been using an offset firebox for years.

Can't wait to fire it up and smoke some shit.

Let's talk what you do to get the grill prepared after the long winter. Thoughts on this, as I am thinking about doing some grilling this weekend.

You coat it in lighter fluid and light it on fire.... da fire purifies dat grill for the start of a glorious new grilling season

I did absolutely nothing. Mine fired without issue this past weekend.

I am disappointed.... you failed to purify both your grill and Nvan....

AL No time for that now, babe, gotta get ready for the barbecue. Oh, and listen, Honey:
don't touch my grill.

PEGGY It's filthy, Al. Don't you want me to lick it clean so we can have sex again?

AL No. I like it just the way it is. Last year's grease on the grill, last year's ashes on
the bottom. That's what makes a Bundy Burger special.
