Everybody just doesn't hate him like you. End of story.

I know everybody dont hate him but i think you guys are giving to much credit to a guy who hasnt done shit. Dont tell me 2 years isnt enough time. I just gave u a list of things and all i get back is he hasnt had enough time. He sure had enough time to do the other things.

I am on the fence with him, but its really hard to judge a guy that was handed this mess with no payroll room anyhow.

The next two offseasons will be telling. With the 1B this year and the SP next year.

Wilken is known to do that. He tends to take guys that stock is rising right around the draft, and so they sometimes look like reaches. He did it with Colvin a few years back, and if I am not mistaken he did a similar thing with drafting Rios in Toronto.

Yeah he is known for that. I've noticed that. Rios was good for a bit, but he's on the decline. Colvin was good last year but was on the nench all year so I really can't say anythig. But most people will say 1 year wonder.

I agree this offseason will be a huge one for Ricketts. It will show the fans if he really cares about winning or making dough.

Pretty much. Honestly he has done nothing to hate him for because well there was nothing for him to do. We had no money this offseason anyhow so what was he going to do? He can't just cut all these guys like in the NFL he is stuck with them.

I will reserve all judgement on him positive or negative until after this offseason for start and get a real good feel after the following one.

People keep saying he hasn't done shit, but I don't know what he was supposed to really do with this team. He was really quite handcuffed from the get go.

I will say there is one person in this organization I fully trust and thats Wilken. If he really thought Simpson was the guy then damnit, that's who I wanted to take too. It's not like the other sports where you can trade up/down to get the guy. If you really want him and don't think he will be there when you pick again then you have to take him. No matter what others think. You can't draft in order to make the critics happy.

Wilken is going to biggest loss if Hendry gets fired. I really hope that they make a push to keep him, but I am afraid that he will be gone once Hendry is.

Do you work for Ricketts? Just curious cause u seem to suck his dick every time people post anything bad about him

 If your reasons for hating him were legit, I wouldn't have to respond. It's not about liking Ricketts or not, it's about rationale.

Pretty sure I responded with a lot more than "he hasn't had enough time".

Is someone updating the opening post with all the official signings so far? That'd be very helpful.

Easterling signed... will not go back to school or pursue NFL career, even though he got into college on a football scholarship.

I found today the Cubs have signed 30th pick RHP Arturo Maltos-Garcia, 33rd pick LHP Sheldon McDonald and 38th pick RHP Casey Lucchese. So, 14 of 50 picks signed.

The Cubs apparently have signed their 3rd round pick Zeke DeVoss. Seems as though the guy is fast and has good patience (are we sure the Cubs drafted this guy).

Yeah I bet he was, as he was at Wrigley yesterday swinging.
