If we have to give up Cashner, we better not do it. No GM is worth an MLB player.
And we aren't allowed to trade draft picks, unless that changes in the new CBA, but we can't wait that long to get a GM.

If Cubs lose any players over Theo it better be low minor leaguers. I dont see why Theo would want to come to cubs if they trade some big pieces away. He needs things to work with

Giving them Cashner would take away one of the bright spots from the current farm system. Ricketts has placed an emphasis on wanting to build and develop the farm, not trade away the good guys we do have. Cashner is the future if he stays healthy.
