No it couldn't be.Sorry to disappoint you, yes I do mean Cutler and it couldn't be any more comparable even despite one being a player and the other a front office person...
One of these two men has a direct impact on who is on the team. The other doesn't. Cutler isn't building the team around him. Epstein is controlling players, coaches, etc at all levels. Cutler being on the team may impact indirectly who Angelo targets, but Cutler isn't making the choices. Angelo is.
Epsteins success>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.Cutler's success before coming to Chicago. Cutler was a young up and coming QB who made a Pro Bwol despite Phillip Rivers being better. Epstein is a young GM who is already one of the best in the game and has two championships in one of the toughest markets in baseball(fan base/criticism wise).Cutler was viewed as a savior based off of previous success elsewhere and the fact that the Bears have never had a franchise quarterback.
The rest of your post was pointless. Again, Cutler can't build the team around himself. He has virutally no control over player personnel decisions. Epstein will be building an entire system once he gets here. There is no reasonable comparison between the two other than Chicago fans being meatheads about it all. Rickett's has shown himself so far to be rather hands off with Hendry, so much so as to letting him trade etc even after he was "fired". I really doubt the fanbase has any realistic worries of Rickett's being too control happy in terms of Epstein and the FO anymore than any average owner would be.
Comparing Epstein to Cutler is ridiculous. One is much more important than the other.
