On one hand, as I said before, it's counter-intuitive to let players be a barrier to getting Theo when we'd be getting Theo because we have a poor history of mis-assessing our own players. But on the other hand, there is a principle here and if the custom is that you let a guy leave for a promotion, then the Red Sox shouldnt be trying to fleece us just to save face. It bothers me that Boston isn't being more beaten up in the media for breeching what is custom here. Who the f*** are they to break with this long-standing tradition? We're supposed to give them more than they deserve just because their owners are a bunch of bitches? I don't think people like Lucchino should be rewarded for acting like an angry woman.
If this guys have limited promise, it doesnt bother me as much. But we shouldn't be doing anything where Boston is getting fat off of this.

Those 5 would easily be replaced/upgraded if Epstein comes.

Im what world is Wells a good 4? Only if we want to be a bottom feeder. He isn't even a good 5 IMO. He is a guy you like to have for depth and store in AAA until injury but is easily replaceable he isn't very good.
