Nope you were also claiming they weren't going to hire McCown, that someone outside the Texans recommended him, and that he was not one of the top candidates.
The whole McCown thing about them not hiring him was started by McClain. That is just a rumor not a fact.

Flores' statement was that Flores was going to get hired but the lawsuit prevented it.

You said Flores was right.

Which is it...was McCown going to get hired or Flores?

Both the rumor and Flores can't both be right.

Nothing you have said here is supported by anything other than because you said so.

He is right though. Lovie was a last minute interview after the lawsuit made Flores and McCown risky hires.

This is what I said. Based on the above and just the above I am claiming he is right about the lawsuit making he and McCown risky hires. The main point here was Flores or McCown was the frontrunner not Lovie. Lovie only came up because the lawsuit made hiring Flores or McCown untenable.

This has always been my position. At no point did I claim that Flores and Flores alone was the frontrunner. There is no way to read the above and claim I thought Flores and Flores alone was the frontrunner. So at best you could claim I was wrong about what Flores said but you cannot claim I stated Flores was the frontrunner.

Again please read and comprehend.

Doesn’t cutting Foles carry a pretty steep cap hit?

@remydat

1. Prove where the were going to hire McCown as an establish fact

2. Answer the following question: Was Flores right when he said he was going to be the candidate except for the lawsuit or was McCown the actual choice?

Answer those two and we can end this discussion

Foles provides about $3m in cap relief and carries about $7m in dead cap.

They aren't going to keep 3 QBs this year because despite Foles with 7m in dead cap they get relief on cutting him

They only have 2 QBs on the roster with Foles. Dalton had a ghost cap charge but he is a FA.
thats right. I read that wrong.....i guess another year of foles is on the menu

Could probably bring in tyrod Taylor for under that $3 million I'd think. He'd be a better fit for an offense geared around fields obviously
Yeah he's always undervalued. I think he was $5.5 last year though.

But we’ll have to sign another QB. What are the chances that it’s for less than $3M. Probably pretty slim.

I’d keep Foles honestly. Drop him next year
I would too. But they're in a good spot, if they get a guy they like better for a price they like they can release him at any time.
