I still follow up with Cole Strange in round 3. Gives you another mauler at guard, makes Whitehair expendable, and gives you someone with center experience in the event Linderbaum gets hurt. Poles likes flexibility and guys who can play multiple positions on the line.

I'd be cool with Cole Strange depending on what other options are on the board at WR / CB in the 3rd.

If ever there was a year to get some leaked video of a first rounder partying with hookers and blow on the night before the draft…this is it. Way to much temptation in the party city of Las Vegas.
Think George would approve Poles travel expense statement for paid escorts for some of the top LT’s and WR’s?

The thing is, it's not like we are going to end up drafting a number one overall wide receiver where we are at.

This is about finding quality depth at the wide receiver position and that should be the expectation.

We really are going to need a first round pick if we're going to take a swing for a true number one, unless we get incredibly lucky.

So that's why I'm okay with double dipping early for offensive guards or two offensive linemen.

There's some really fast guys who are going to be available in the latter parts of the draft that you can pick up and will serve as speed options.

It seems like that's what Poles is going for anyway - he likes speed.

And that is what also liens heavily into what Justin Fields does well - he throws the deep ball very accurately and if you got a lot of speed, you have guys who can get down field in a hurry.

It's the makings of a really explosive offense even without a true number one wide receiver, and you're going to be able to find some fast guys in the later rounds, like Tyquan Thornton and Dai'Jean Dixon.

Any players under the impression that they are going to contend next season are deluding themselves. I think it is widely understood that next season is a building season, not a raze the building type season, but a complete remodel.
Agreed. It's not like saying a trade would make them feel they lost the key piece to their super bowl contending team. But building and tearing down preparing to build are different. The point was that from a future asset standpoint, a trade makes sense. But you have to consider your players as well.

And then further sink your team into a bigger contract spread out over many years. And then suddenly you’re the Bears lol
Funny you mention that, when everyone speaks of all the cap money they will have next year, they fail to realize those contracts will not be one year contracts.

Rinse
Repeat.
