So happy to hear there's legit interest that may result in a legit offer. Buster better know what he's talking about.

The longer it goes.. The better shot it gives us.

I agree.

If someone was going to pay Fielder what he wanted this deal would be done. The longer it goes the more teams that are slowly dropping out and the dollars are dropping.

I think he means that Boras can't just pit teams against other teams for this particular client because the market isn't there. As stated previously, if Fielder doesn't sign on the Cubs' terms then he probably leaves the NL altogether. Win-win for Cubs, unless Cards or Brewers magically find some money.

Buster Olney The Cubs have done some background work on Prince Fielder, and they would like him--but only on their terms, not close to a 10-year deal.

You could replace Cubs with any team name and it would more than likely be true for 75% of the teams in baseball. Not really breaking news/insider stuff.

Where there is smoke there is fire.

Everyday that goes by I think that Fielder will get cheaper as what mystery team is going to jump in?

The likely culprits for jumping in and driving the price up are not involved.

Improved team with Fielder only on the Cubs' terms, not Scott Boras'...if Fielder can get a better deal from Seattle or Texas or DC/Baltimore, go for it. Otherwise he'll take the 5-year Cubs deal and like it.

At this point if we're not in.. The market is dwindling..

I could see a short contract for Prince back to Milwaukee.

That'd be amazing if they scrounged up the money to do that.
