Mitchell and Barrett could be instant roster makes.
Could we trade this years first and a young defender to the Canucks for instant help with Podkolzin contract rights?

Bowman is like that goof way back when in Nintendo who would play all skinny guys and flop all over the ice, but fast. But then you realize a balanced team is the ultimate.

Trade for Podz smash. He smash things with Dach. I'm sure they are excited to get him over for the same reason and compliment Peterson, its a long shot but they for sure need to maybe get Seabrook back, they miss his braun. And draft or trade for a big ready now kid or two. Sign a big...why they can't buy in on a guy like Perlini I don't know. Move Strome to wing and pay him 2-4.

It feels like there is nothing they can do, with no desire to match Vegas physicality or game control, and the wall of Lehnar back there...they are going to need a special sniping and defensive performance to win a game.

Kane-Toews-Cat (Kane has become stagnant, flip his ice, make him react again)
Kubalik-Strome-Saad
Nylander-Dach-Kampf
Jewels-Carp-Entwhistle/Q/Highmore/Hogan/Sikura (let Jewels and Carp pick their flavor)

Keith-Dehaan
Boqvist-Murphy (physical athletic support is what the pup needs, let him be the brain stem and puck control)
Maata-KooKoo

The discussion of "overmatched" is unclear, it appears.

I agree Vegas looked better. But I think the originl point was that the Hawks didn't look like they didn't belong. I would agree with that. Two goals in the third were all Crawford. They easily should have been stopped. 2nd goal was offside.

I am watching Blues-Canucks right now, and in a 2-2 game inthe 3rd, to me the Canucks look overmatched. (I pray they steal this) But they look like they haven't seen a puck before, and they're lucky to be tied.

Edit: Canucks now lead.

I just saw the hawks doing alot against Vegas and I expected to see Vegas almost untouchable. Nobody is going to smash or stand up to the prick Reeves, this will go back to we wont hit you so please dont hit us so hard mentality. Gilbert is the only d man we have willing to stand up, and it seems there is no spot for him here.

As far as missing Seabrooks grit, man, we have missed that since 2015, no odd thing that that was the last time we did anything in the playoffs let alone win a cup. He got paid.

I'd say they did look overmatched. Except in the first period, where they hung in there defensively -- but the majority of the game, Vegas dominated. Both teams were tentative in the first period, but once the game broke open, it was all Vegas. I didn't see a lot of the Yotes/Avalanche game, but they were tied until like 7 minutes left in the third until the Avs busted out.

I'm not going to go as far as to say they were outmatched but even in the first it felt like all they did was turtle to try to make it through the start of the game because they knew Vegas would come out strong. Then they tried to pick it up and seemed like they were running with them but the two bad goals brought the wheels off.

We need to see Kane, Cat and Strome jump on after a PK. Dach is killing now, Highmore, Saad, Toews, Carp, Kampf. That was always a line that could go get some after a penalty. If they click, let them go another few shifts.
We are all just waiting for Nylander to sit, like we have been all year. Would really like to see Highmore on that second PP unit with his gift for deflecting pucks.

Nylander is garbage. I still can't believe Bowman wasted Joker for that. He should have been fired for that move alone, yet he gets an extension (supposedly). Bringing back Shaw too -- a good third liner at best -- was very stupid. It would have been nice to sub Joker for Boqvist in these playoffs.

Yeah, Bo is in over his head this series. So stupid trading Joker for Nolander.

deHaan was really getting deep in the zone, Bovquist seems concerned about playing defense. He has forward quality moves and should be the guy trying to get more shots off. I did actually see Bovquist chasing Keith back to his side a couple times during the first game as Keith was looking back to see if Bovquist was going to try to get to his boards to go after the puck. Maybe that was what lit the fuse on Keith and he pummeled that guy with a check. Something woke up Dunc.

Collitan pleased with the teams overall performance, so expected to stick to the lineup unless there are some late scratches. Someone trip Nylander getting on the ice for warmups too.

I think the push to play Nylander is coming from Bowman, just looking for a reason to show he made the right decision trading Joker. He was eighth on the team with 26 points in 65 games with 10 goals, but those 10 were when he was going to the net. About the whole second half of the season he is running away from the net. Gotta think that is hand and hand with this coaching choice.

The NHL posted the Blackhawks even with Keith, Crow, Toews and Kaner upping the age scale..they are the youngest team in the playoffs.

If anything they will get good experience here but regardless they just aren't a deep team due to the cap. Not having a player like Andrew Shaw hurts them as well cause he has goal scoring ability in the dirty areas and can bring sandpaper to his game which is required in the playoffs. It was a big gamble by Bowman to sign him tho due to his concussion/injury history.

They need guys like Boqvist to step up next year. He was touted as an offensive defenseman. Hawks will have Ian Mitchell to help the blue line next season. Cat has had a down year, he needs to rebound and Dach needs to show he can finish and score a few more goals.

Boqvist may just wind up as a 5/6, I despised the pick at the time and still don't see that much potential in him. Yeah, blah, blah, Dmen take years to develop and look at #2, but given his draft slot this was a slight to moderate whiff.

Were you a Wahlstrom guy? Think that's who I wanted that draft.

I'm not quite ready to give up all hope for Boqvist. I'm hoping he pans out obviously, but from what I've seen thus far, he shouldn't have made Joker so expendable for Bowman.

Only chance the Hawks have this series is for Crawford to play on his head and carry the team (he's done it before). Otherwise, Vegas in 5.

Shaw can play any line. Just due to his playing style / concussion history was a huge risk signing.

Worst case he has talent to play a wing.

Nylander is pure garbage, another David Rundblad signing. These are the reasons this team is where they are.

He can, technically. Should he? No. He's a solid 3rd liner on a Cup contender.

Many of his highlights here I see Toews and/or Kaner on his line. Coach Q knew what he brought to the table.

Why are they singing the Canadian national anthem dammit neither of these teams are Canadian. If the game wasn't in a bubble they be in Vegas right now. I know I know most of the players on the ice right now our Canadian go **** yourself.

Absolutely brutal turnover by Nylander. Cost the Hawks a scoring chance and lead to a chance for the Knights lol
