New here and I like it hope to be here awhile
I also believ e we should trade AJ because we do have Flowers and he can actually hit and hit with alot of pop as well. The only question mark about him is can he handle the defensive chores behind the plate...

since JR doesn't seem to have the kojones to fire KW and Oz then I think we have many players who need to be moved out and to me they really are no brainers. Jenks, Konerko, AJ, Pierre, Beurhle and just flat out release Williams & Linebrink. I know we could land some real nice young 5 tool type players with a lot of cieling to this team to go with the young talented kids we have already like Bacon, Ram, Rios, Thornton, Santos, Quentin, Flowers, Danks (OF) not to mention our starting pitching and I want Viceido up here and Teabags gone for a bag of peanuts

Mark Gonzales of The Chicago Tribune reminds us that A.J. Pierzynski's ten-and-five rights kick in on June 14th, just over two weeks away. At that point the catcher will be able to veto any trade.

Who would take AJ right now? He isn't hitting a ton and he isn't exactly the greatest clubhouse guy outside of Chicago.

I don't think it will be easy to trade him.

AJ is the kindd of guy everyone hates but when he's on your side he's the kind of guy that your glad he's with you, so, I think there might be more folks out there lookin at him than you think...I hope!

I didn't think AJ was that bad. I thought he handled pitchers really well.

Handling a pitching staff is nice and all, but a team like the Rangers has that already. They want offense from the catcher, and AJ used to be a .300 hitter with 12-15 homers. He might not be that anymore.

The other thing is AJ can't take a walk to save his life, so when his hitting slumps he provides little to the offense.

Perhaps there is a team that is interested, I just don't think the market is going to be that large for a "game managing" catcher who is hitting in the .220s.

What? Your point was to intentionally misrepresent the number of years AJ has been in the league? Just tryin to help.

anyone whose been in the league for almost 15 different seasons should be able to handle a pitching staff.

I wasn't talking about AJ only, but in general, that anyone whose been playing in the league for nearly 15 seasons should be able to handle a staff. Geez.

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski would almost certainly consent to a trade if the club asked him to move on in order to give Tyler Flowers big league experience. Pierzynski has the right to veto any trade beginning on June 13th. The veteran is a free agent at the end of the season and could enhance his value by going to a contender. If he was still available in August then his salary is high enough that he would likely clear waivers.

Pierzynski Open To A Trade
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [June 7, 2010 at 4:34pm CST]

A.J. Pierzynski told Scott Merkin of MLB.com that he's open to a trade, though he'd prefer to see the White Sox start winning so he isn't tempted to go anywhere. The 33-year-old catcher, who will have no-trade rights after he sees his ten and five rights kick in June 14th, would consider leaving Chicago.

"Obviously, if the White Sox aren't where we want to be and a team has a chance for the playoffs and to win the World Series and they come and say, 'Hey, we need a catcher,' it would be hard to say no to that,"
Pierzynski said.

Pierzynski repeated his desire to stay in Chicago, where he has played since 2005, but pointed to Jim Thome, who played in the postseason with the Dodgers after leaving the White Sox in a summer 2009 trade. The chance to play playoff baseball would make it hard for Pierzynski to say no to a deal.

Ken Rosenthal reported this weekend that Pierzynski would probably approve a trade. The White Sox have since become sellers and could match up with clubs that need help behind the plate.

The Brewers lost Gregg Zaun, though they may be reluctant to take on the $4MM remaining on Pierzynski's $6.25MM salary in a season when they're well below .500. The Brewers will consider options, but GM Doug Melvin says a deal for Pierzynski is unlikely. The Rangers reportedly asked about Pierzynski last month and while they don't seem likely to add much salary, they could use catching help.
