On the subject of objectivity vs subjectivity there is a widely accepted school of thought that the sky is not blue but rather appears blue to humans because of a unique combination of amino acids that affect the color spectrum our eyes can see. There are people with deficiencies of those amino acids that don't see/perceive the sky to be blue. So therefore is saying the sky is blue a subjective opinion because only 99.7% of the population sees it that way?

The moral of this story is you can parse anything if you really want to but why would you want to?

Who never once claimed that was objectivity. Thanks for playing.

Of course it's objective, because they weren't. Most people would agree.

Dodgers seem to want to trade for Kinsler, but he wants an extension to waive his no trade clause to them.

Interesting note, I never really thought into it but I always thought it was strange guys would have big market teams on their no trade clause. Turns out, its for leverage. They put the big market teams on the list, so if they do try to trade for them. They have the leverage to get a contract extension. This is just a reminder. Baseball is a business above all else.

Interesting. Never thought about it in that light.

Jon Heyman is speculating Fowler gets 4 years $60 mil. If that's the going rate for him that seems like a steal to me and wouldn't mind the cubs looking at him. It obviously would create some roster issues but the reality of the situation is if a player is good value all that does is give you more pieces for other moves. If the going rate for fWAR is roughly $8 mil per, Fowler has basically been a lock for 2 fWAR since 2011 and obviously has been worth far more the past 2 years.

I may be in the minority, but I think the split record is over stated. Fowler didnt exactly kill it in the second half and the Cubs went on a tear. Maybe him being in the lineup set the players up better, but I dont think it was just him. The Cubs skid came when our pitchers had their worst streak of the season that coincided with our hitters going ice cold. I believe that had way more of an affect than Fowler being out. I like Fowler, but I think its time to move on. Almora is Theo baby. His first draft pick. I would assume Theo is going to want to see what he can do. I expect a platoon out in CF. Fowler may have not been bad in CF, but Almora is great. It also allows flexibility. Save the money. You are already paying JHey. If JHey wasnt a Cub, I would probably think differently but he is a Cub.
