It would be Cody for Luis Castillo.

I would rather target Crochet. 100 MPH lefties are very rare. It would cost 3 of the top 100 prospects

I would make Shaw, Ballestroes and Caissie off limits rest are talk worthy.

Yeah Crochet would be the better get, and they literally have to trade some prospects or they are wasted.

Sox want middle IF. So Vazquez for a current SS and Rojas for the pending one. Triantos is pretty equivalent to Hoerner when a final product. Neither walk much. Both have a plus hit tool. Nico better glove. Triantos better power and run tool

With that replacing Crochet with Wicks.

I would go 100 innings with Crochet then move him to closer to keep his total innings around 130. Move either Horton or Brown to the rotation for the 2nd half

Cubs have the depth to pull it off and in a short series you want a weapon like Crochet to lock down a win.

Hmmm Cody + Nico for Castillo + Garver

I would not be against it. Addresses catcher and a SP. Frees up 2B and RF. Pay roll 1.5M diff for 2025.

Over all a solid option. Crochet as a closer would be worth that deal also.

As long as you get growth from Busch, Paredes gets closer to 2023. And you get good value from RF and 2B it is worth it

OMG the Sox are just inept.... Worst season for no pay off.

All non-playoff teams are entered into a lottery for the top six picks. This year, 16 of those 18 teams are eligible for the lottery. Here they are, listed in order of the odds of them getting the No. 1 pick, with their 2024 winning percentage in parentheses.

22.45 percent -- Rockies (.377)
22.45 -- Marlins (.383)
17.96 -- Angels (.389)
10.20 -- Nationals (.438)
7.48 -- Blue Jays (.457)
5.31 -- Pirates (.469)
3.67 -- Reds (.475)
2.45 -- Rangers (.481)
1.90 -- Giants (.494)
1.50 -- Rays (.494)
1.22 -- Red Sox (.500)
1.09 -- Twins (.506)
0.82 -- Cardinals (.512)
0.68 -- Cubs (.512)
0.53 -- Mariners (.525)
0.27 -- D-backs (.549)
0.0 -- White Sox (.253 – ineligible for lottery pick)
0.0 -- A’s (.426 – ineligible for lottery pick)

As a team that received a lottery pick in the 2024 Draft and is a “payor club” -- a team that gives rather than receives revenue sharing dollars -- the White Sox are not eligible for this year’s lottery. The A’s are a “payee club,” but landed lottery picks in 2023 and '24, and payees cannot receive a lottery pick three years in a row. They can pick no earlier than 10th and 11th in the 2025 Draft as a result.

December 8th, 2024 at 9:13pm CST • By Nick Deeds
The offseason’s biggest story has reached its conclusion as the Mets have reached an agreement on a 15-year, $765MM deal with free agent superstar Juan Soto, according to a report from The New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

That should free up the market for Monday. 51M per is crazy though. He barely plays D at a major league level. Huge overpay

So... mets have a giant hole in CF. Currently have Tyrone Taylor slotted in and if you're paying for Soto you gotta go for it..... so do they make sense for a trade?

Yankee and Red Sox are fighting over Bergman ATM. His signing should open a few opertunities for Jed.

Houston will need a 3B and Jed could off Paredes.

Yankees and Cody are a natural match up with their short porch in RF and Cody slotting at 1B or CF moving Judge back to RF.

So Jed has opertunities available and he should be looking at major league level returns vs unknowns

Depends on what they have in return for Jed. Once Bergman resolves it will be Hernandez most likely going back to LA and the Jays most likely getting Santander. Bergman seems like the Red Sox are pushing hard for. Yankees then most likely will give Jed what he wants.

AL east is a hot bed right now and Cashman just lost big and the vultures are on the move. He will overpay.

I would love to see Jed pull a Kyle Tucker trade then extend for 7 years.

You would have to start with Caissie. Tucker is worth 5 WAR per so Caissie would be a good starting point. I would love to see Killian and Canario added as they have no future in Chicago.

Word is Houston doesn't want to give him a 7 year extension so they are looking to sell his last year. They do want to use that cash to retain Bergman.

Tucker would be a center piece in the line up for years. That would free up Cody on a 1:1 deal for Castillo. Jed would have to pay the diff on this one

Word is Jed had talks with SD about Cease for Suzuki.

That is where the backlash on Suzuki's agent coming out saying Suzuki dislikes being a DH and he was a plus fielder in Japan.

So what makes Kyle Tucker different from Suzuki? Hitting stats wise they seem to be the same player, but Tucker has more speed. Is he elite in RF?
