I don’t believe that is the situation. I believe that the situation is like it’s stated….”diversity and inclusion” they want all people included in the search. Not just white guy retreads.

You can't be this naive. They don't want "all people" included, they want certain types of people that fit their narrative included only. They are activists and not at all interested in the type of diversity or inclusion that would contravene their ideology.

Call me crazy but I don't think woke activists should be influencing personnel decisions in a pro sports franchise. Empowering these people shows a lapse of judgment by management but it's par for the course with this franchise. Doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence in their future decision-making.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Such a racket, whole industry. I'm beginning to understand why this organization can't do anything right. If they were suckered into throwing money at a D & I department makes you wonder how big of saps they really are when it comes to everything else.

At this point I wouldn't mind bringing someone like Harbaugh in just to get some testosterone back into this feminine organization.

Why is every other post of yours some whiny MAGA political bullshit? It makes you look like a raging fucking moron, btw. Just wanted you to know that.

Would rather have a very old Bill Polian making that decision than Ryan Pace. Polian is still more of a football guy than Pace ever could be.
He was on the advisory panel that resulted in Emery.

We all wanted change but this is not that.

What do you mean? i'm on-topic, read the OP. It's not my fault the Bears hired this person about whom I have opinions.

I assure you plenty of people who aren't "MAGA morons" have an issue with woke activists, especially when they're unqualified to make personnel decisions for a sports franchise.

Sadly this is common place in the rest of the world.

The search team will consist of Bill Polian, George McCaskey, Ted Phillips, Soup Campbell (Player Relations), and Tanisha Wade (Senior VP of Diversity and Inclusion).
So we will have 1 football person, 1 sorta football person, and 3 non football people making the decision with George making the ultimate decision.

Ted Phillips will still be over the GM. George the Lessor will still be over him.

Couldn't help myself. Had to make this.

Sorry Soup. I'm sure you've had your fill of this in grade school but the brain trust is, well, we don't.

omg absolute trojan horse, get this person out ASAP. Last thing this franchise needs is some elitist woke college professor calling any shots about anything.

We're gonna have our first trans gender fluid person of color as our head coach if people like these are allowed to be involved in any decision making.
LOL. Me thinks you overestimate the influence. Talk about triggered.

My question is, who else is in that department? Is there a junior VP of Diversity and Inclusion? Associate VP? Director? Manager?

Lol it’s just her and she can’t even be Director/President LMFAOOO

Well it's either she's doing nothing or she's doing something, either way it's bad. Unless George just likes to hand tens of thousands of dollars in salary out to people he doesn't intend on listening to for PR purposes.

I have so little faith in this organization getting it right. I wouldn’t be surprised if they hired Ryan Grigson

Look at it this way. You'll have more targets.

Yeah, I misunderstood when he was asked about keeping the current management model.
Not that it's any better. Reporting to dumb or dumber won't make much difference.
There is absolutely no difference. The GM reported to Ted then Ted collaborated with George. Now the GM reports to George and George with collaborate with Ted because he greatly values his opinion.

How often did George say I? Not very often. Most of the time his answer started with we. Nothing has changed. This is the same way politicians attempt to appease the masses.

Hub, Polian, McCaskey, these guys live in the 1960s, the Bears are going back to a cover-2 defense and punting on 4th and 2 from the opposition’s 40.

I'm very happy the both of them are gone but having another competent football man (President) in the day to day is not a bad thing. It's not just about the next GM. Polian may well still be well connected but it's not like a guy that's at most pro days, league meetings or in on the daily inside scuttlebug. Lets hope his connections are still strong enough and that his understanding of what this new generation of player needs as a leader is good enough.
