The playoff rules are what they are. If Colorado wins the Big 12 they deserve to be in, just like a winner of the worst division in the NFL "deserves" to be in.

But the hype as though they've accomplished something is out of control.

While Indiana has recently gotten some notice now that they have gotten to 10-0, the talk of IU is 1% of the talk around Deion and his constant blathering about how great he and his team are.

And as for rankings, as I stated before, if Colorado with their schedule and record were coached by a no-name, they would not be #16.

OK, Illinois, this is right where I worry you'll screw up a good season. 9-3 is in your sights. Lose this and finish 8-4 at best and it sours everything.

Not a great team by any means, but winning 9 is huge for a program with very little success recently.

Don't let Rutgers ruin it for you.

The rankings absolutely do not take into account who you played. See Indiana or Colorado as an example.

The rankings voted on by riders or coaches who don’t watch every team because they’re watching their own, taking into account the name on the uniform. Thus Nebraska was in the top 25 as soon as they went 2-0.

Notre Dame is consistently ranked higher than any other team with their record, talent, and results on the field would be, year in year out.
Indiana is a unique case. They played and beat the two teams from last years NCAA title game, it just so happens that feat is the least impressive I can remember it being. And in any case they kick off in an hour against the #2 team in the country so their strength of schedule complains are about to be outdated.

They need to win. For every bullshit reason Penn State is inexplicably ranked ahead of them despite having the loss, so unless Indiana loses this game by one point in the most controversial way imaginable (not outside the realm of possibility with the Buckeyes) they have no to being a top three B1G team without a win today. That or Minnesota wins at home, but even in that case a loss would tumble Indiana in the rankings.

Georgia struggling with a 2-8 UMASS. Didn’t see this one coming.

They 100% take who you play into account because that is stated in their criteria ie SoS. It simply isnt a perfect system because it is run by humans.

Gee and 16th isn’t top 12

You new to numbers??

They have played nobody and don’t deserve to be in the playoff

And they still have 2 more games to go and if they win the Big 12 tournament they are likely to finish higher than 16. Duh!

OK, I know fans think there team is getting jobbed by refs often when they are not.

But the refs in the Illinois Rutgers game might as well just don Rutgers jerseys!

There have been numerous ridiculous calls, every one of which has gone against Illinois.

Meanwhile, tOSU, even with a failed drive inside the 2, is up 28-7 on the Hoosiers.

Every. Single. Fucking. Play.

The refs call a penalty on Illinois.

They called offsetting penalties on a play where Illinois ran a punt back and got called for a block in the back that was clearly not, while Rutgers grabbed a facemask. Instead of adding to the return it nullified the entire play.

They later kept a Rutgers drive alive because a defender made contact slightly after a whistle - a clear case of the penalty (allowing Rutgers to keep the ball and eventually get a TD) didn't fit the misdemeanor if you can even call it that.

In between, the common over-legislating of targeting when it was no such thing, but fortunately review is mandatory and they got it right.

And that should end talk of Indiana in the playoff. They needed a good showing and they face planted.

Ole Miss may be seeing their chances of the playoff evaporate also.

Down 7 in final two minutes and Florida has the ball.

And just like that, Tennessee is back in the playoff @knoxville7

2 teams eliminated today. (Indiana has no business in the top 15)

ND, CU, Bama and TAMU should all be on notice tonight/today

I saw someone rightfully compare ND and SMU and question ND being 6 and SMU being in the teens. SMU's resume is better.

lol it’s because they don’t use only own metric to determine rankings. They use a composite score and SMU isn’t rated as high by the sagarin, FPI, and other metrics. This isn’t hard but some just want it to use their rankings to fit their narrative. But nice try tho.
