Former NFL RB/Current CCS Poster Trashes Fields

“Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy, who stars on FS1's The Facility, took to the show to express his opinions on the Steelers quarterback situation.

"Why would you be keeping Fields other than to make him a backup, or give him a clipboard, or give him a package to run the ball here or there?" McCoy said. "He can't play, can't throw. He don't win. Explain to me, from a good franchise and a good coach, why the hell would we keep him?"

While there are certain undeniable issues with his game, McCoy's comments seem to have little basis in fact to them. While Fields struggled at times, and never fully showed the arm strength that Wilson boasted, he was able to lead the team to a 4-2 record to open the season. On the other hand, Wilson's ability to be mobile has gone down significantly with age, and Fields presented an ability to do so.”

When I saw this pop up yesterday it did not give the players name who said it in the headline. Without reading I knew it was LeSean McCoy.... so I never even bothered to click into the article.

That dweeb has had it in for Fields FOR YEARS!!! He takes unprompted gratuitous shots left and right. You can wake that dude from his sleep and in a cold sweat he will yell out "FIELDS!!!!"

I truly believe buddy (JF) must have hit his girl at some point and dude is still carrying that around that grudge with him like an anvil.

Wow. I was completely unaware of that.

I was only kidding when I typed “Former NFL RB/Current CCS Poster”, but I may be on to something.

Darnold brings respectability/stability while you search for your Alpha QB.

“Justin Fields looks like he will get another season to prove himself as starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell Wilson, however, is headed to being one and done. According to an NFL Media report, Fields is "more likely" to be their QB re-signing of choice over Wilson.

Fields and Wilson would both become unrestricted, unsigned free agents next week when NFL free agency begins. But there's a fair chance that only Wilson makes the market, with the Steelers agreeing on a deal to bring Fields back before then.”

Rodgers would be the last person on earth I'd be bringing in during a brand new era.

Darnold stuff is starting to get interesting - I highly doubt the Vikings pay him top dollar, apparently Callahan is interested in him, the Colts are apparently interested and I guess the Raiders make sense in some form or fashion.
The Vikings would be taking a huge gamble that JJ turns into an elite QB, if they allow Darnold to walk.

Pretty sure they know/think they can get a similar floor from Daniel Jones at a fraction of the cost.

With all of the WR news in Seattle, wouldn't be surprised to see Geno available.

I think Darnold's success last year shows that JJ doesn't need to be an elite QB. He just needs to be more like Brock Purdy and less like Trey Lance.

McCoy has never liked Fields.

I was just perusing the Steelers boards and ran across this stat:

JUSTIN FIELDS --- Last 17 games --- 4200 yards passing, 33 TD's and a 92 passer rating!

WOW!!! Even better than I thought!

Also, Steeler fans truly want JF. I mean, like, they are all over the idea of bringing him back and giving him the keys. I like it but.... I dont like that roster. He needs more weapons and a better Oline than they currently have. Also, as much as I like Tomlin he can be a little trigger happy. Tomlin has got back up a little to give him some room to grow. If JF decides to sign with them, hopefully they do that (give him room) and open up the playbook.

If they open it up a little and add a few weapons, teams will have to pick their poison!
