Jets are trying to trade up for cam ward too, they just don't have the inside track. I'd be shocked if they don't draft a qb if they sign fields
It sounds like the Giants are a done deal for the first pick or at least tending that way.

Right now the Pittsburgh media is trying to say that Fields won't commit that much money in the open market and that they're interested in Dart and Slough. It's pretty clear they badly want to avoid bringing Russ back in general and I heard they're not a fan of having a young QB with Russ. If I'm Fields camp I'm pretty comfortable hitting FA whereas there's good reason to believe that the Steelers aren't enthralled with their current position.

They should've traded for Fields last year. They'd be in such better shape today.
I feel the same about the Raiders, I think multiple teams colluded against the Bears last season. Fields should have been worth much more than what Poles got for him. He's going to get paid well this offseason so at least that's a plus for him.

Why should the Giants go for Rodgers? Is their contending window open?
Their GM and Coach will be getting fired if that team isn't competitive this season. Rodgers is the easiest way for them to compete in that division.

Sounds about right, but I’m wondering why they are getting rid of DK Metcalf.
It's time for them to rebuild and he doesn't want to be there. I'm sure they aren't interested in paying him $30M AAV at this point.

Kinda sucks for Macdonald… start a rebuild in year 2. That’s a tough spot to coach in a world that isn’t patient.

Pick one and go with it. Trying to straddle that fence might cost them both.

Who am I kidding? No one else wants Wilson.

They have no leverage unless both hit FA, one strikes out and is willing to come back to you.

But you can't make it be known that Fields is your number one but then want to try and get him on a small deal and don't guarantee him the job fully. Other teams appear willing to do that (the Jets) and Russ knows how you really feel about him based on how you handle his negotiation.

“The Seattle Seahawks were not on anyone’s radar until trading Geno Smith. Now, the Seahawks could be another team that wants in on the Justin Fields sweepstakes. While Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports they are out on Russell Wilson, Fields could now be an option for the Seahawks.

On top of that, Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News-Tribune sees Fields as a player who makes a lot of sense for the Seahawks. It seems there might be some smoke behind that.”
