So then why does he suck?
You suggested that it was ok to call me names because I make stuff up. What did I make up in this thread?

MFW I come back after two days and see this thread still going
Most coaches that take a job walk into a team that has a losing record. That is why jobs are open in the first place most of the time. What is not as common is for a coach to go from a team that was successful to a team that hasn't been successful. Obviously he liked something.
He benched 23 reps at the combine and could max out at 405. He is extremely strong for a QB. It's a physical attribute that he has on his side. Being stronger helps you elude a grasp among other things. That coupled with arm strength, height and mobility all play a role in being a successful QB.
These reactions from Jay, I'll miss them one day. Hanie (I think thats Hanie?) is ready to dive in to look at whats going on.

I love how we've reverted to supporters of Cutler talking about him like he's a 23 year old draft prospect.
You know what attributes he prevent him from being a successful QB?
-Proper arm mechanics
-Proper footwork
-Consistent mechanics.
-Leadership ability
-Mentally processes the game slowly
-Bad at anticipatory throws
-Poor pocket presence
-Poor downfield accuracy
-Inconsistent middle accuracy
...
..
.
And it goes on.
But yeah, the Bears should draft this Jay Cutler guy with their pick.
Wait, he's 33 years old and has these problems...
A paycheck.
Those are correctable. Every one of them. .
those are correctable. Every one of them. coaches see natural physical talent and try to work on the things they can fix. Fangio (who we all agree is a good coach) said this exact same thing after the draft.
"I think that Fox took the job thinking he could win with Cutler by improving him and the rest of the team."
That's not Jay being an asshat, that's him being fiery...
A paycheck.
I didn't make that up. That is my opinion that you can respectfully disagree with if you want. There is no way you can prove that he has no faith in winning with Cutler. Going after the number 2 pick in the draft and backing down doesn't prove that. They tried to swap Cutler and 7 for 2. That would have been a steal of the ages with Cutler's contract. Ofcourse they said no. It's not like they offered king's ransom and Tennessee declined. A lot of teams would rather take a shot with Mariota than their own QB. It doesn't mean they have no faith in their own QB.

Not that any of the others are less important, but that one drives me insane.
The Bears didn't "back down". They were told to "go away" by the Titans because Tennessee didn't want Cutler/his contract.
And BTW, the trade offer you said it was..was not was it was.
it involved multiple more picks over the next two seasons.
The sticking point wasn't the picks..it was Cutler
