Over Cap by 4 million?

And as for Lalonde he may need a entire year in Rockford but I'm sure will get the best look he can in training Camp. I have always been impressed with him at every Prospect Camp I've seen. It would take him a couple of years to get anywhere near Campbell and or Keiths level but the potential is there.

Sharp is huge when you factor in the Depth we still don't have at Center. Toews, Bolland, Sharp are key because depth at C is HUGE.

This is exactly why I don't see why there is even any talk about moving Sharp.

He's too consistent and versatile.
First off, I am still relishing this moment and frankly, not thinking about our player/ cap situation. I have faith and shall not even concern myself with this until at least the convention.

I will say this, it is going to be an interesting season in Rockford! All of you should plan on being here for at least a game.

In the meantime................

WE WON THE CUP!
I'll be there for AT LEAST one or two games this coming season Chris. Had a blast meeting up with the IHN-ers before the game. Unfortunately, the seat I had was between two elephants, and I finally had to stand by an entryway for most of the second and third periods. The usher there was very understanding (since they aren't supposed to let people do that). He told me that, if that ever happens again, contact an usher and they can move you to an available seat where two lards aren't sitting on your lap.

You can pretty much sneak around the Metrocenter and sit wherever you want unless it's a Friday/Saturday game. I liked my center ice front row tickets in the 200 level but I did sit in like row 5 or 6 in the corner for a period and I wasn't bothered about a ticket at all.

Also... make use of all the STHs they are all very very friendly and knowledgeable about the sport.

This game was a sellout I think, though, since it was Blackhawks night. So I was kinda stuck. But for any other game up there, I'll keep that in mind.

I thought I read several GM's were already inquiring on Campbell. Versteeg will have good value and is probably odd man out. I believe Sopel has trade value given his playoff run as a good veteran influence for a young group of defensemen. Huet has zero value, both Thomas and Price will be available for less money.

The nucleus will remain and the young kids who were along for the ride will be chomping at the bit for a roster spot. I believe there will be good times for many years ahead.

I think it's funny how everyone is worried about the cap. watch if Dunc wins. they will have their underwear completely in knots! Enjoy the high until the season starts next Fall and people can start griping and worrying and calling for people's heads again.

Huet is (will be) so well off financially at the end of his contract with us that he should retire. He's a head case. But lest any of us forget, he WAS a part of the entire package that got us into the playoffs.

If you had to predict the fourth line what do people see?

is it Bickell, Dowell, Skille? Can you even afford to have 3 'rookies' on a line together?

I guess like many said, Campbell is a big card here depending on what happens with him. I'm assuming that he'll be here, but it is in the best interest of the defense grouping that we have right now to move him. I think going ahead he isn't as needed as he was even this year. I agree 100% with RK that Keith has started to take over that role more and more as the year went on.

Okay one more question lol...i know it's way too early for these questions but i'm very curious lol

Could you move Versteeg and replace him say with a player like Makarov? I haven't really seen him play, but are they not similar in styles? Or am I way off?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe veteran player contracts have incentives that affect the cap. I though it was only the rookie contracts of the 1st round picks it affects.

Performance bonuses can be earned by the following players only:

- players on entry-level contracts

- veteran players (400 or more games) signing one-year contracts, after returning from long-term injuries (100 or more days on injured reserve in their most recent year).

- players who sign a one-year contract after the age of 35.

Has anyone heard the absolutely ridiculous rumor that Espn Chicago [I think] is spewing?

Saying that Hossa might be moved to free up cap space?

Are people stupid?

There are 5 players who aren't going anywhere & Hossa is one of them.

The only players I think are safe from moving are "The Tonight Show 4."

After that everyone else is open if makes sense for the organization.

I think the one thing we have learned from McMonkey, is that no one is ever really safe. There are just people less likely to be moved along than others.
