You weren't getting Nick Young unless you could help them get Nene and the Bulls couldn't period.
I find it funny as well that Nick Young doesnt even fit with what the Bulls do. They Bulls are one of the best passing/ ball movement teams in the NBA. The offense they run requires it and Nick Young is the opposite he is a ball hogging / ball stopping player who doesnt pass.

Hamilton knows how to sit on the bench in a nice suit. And he is not the player he was years ago. Nick Young right now is a better player.

He will never be better than Rip or be the next Ray Allen because he is going to turn 27 in a few months so his development years are long gone. Also Miami has the most talent but how did that end up against Dallas in the Finals? Bulls talent and chemistry > Heat talent ALL DAY EVERY DAY!

You need chemistry to win a championship Dallas wouldn't beat the Heat in the Finals last year if they didn't have great team chemistry, also look at the Knicks with all that talent but they are 5 games under 500. But I agree with you about Butler being better than anyone in the Heat not named LeBron, Wade or Bosh.

Why would we trade two ridiculously cheap players who we have control over for the next 3+ seasons for some head case who's a glorified rental? We're pushing the luxury tax as it is, and would have almost no chance to resign Young next year when he's an unrestricted free agent. Getting him makes sense for a team like the Clippers because they essentially turned Brian Cook's corpse and a second-round pick in 2058 into Nick Young.
Don't get me wrong, I think Nick Young is a good one-dimensional player who would've been a great pickup if we were able to facilitate it and still have a chance to keep him beyond this year. But considering the horrendous environment he's been in and the fact that he's completely uncoachable, it just wouldn't have been a good fit. The guy is a terrible rebounder for his size, an equally as bad dribbler, and I don't think I've ever once seen him try to play defense. The way our roster is shaped, we don't really have the pieces to acquire a "rental" player, which is why, for me at least, making a larger deal was the only thing that really made sense for us.
