So it is still possible that the Cubs did in fact go Dice-K money, but not likely is the conclusion most have, correct?

That's what I've seen a lot of. Many places think the (Red) Sox won the rights and that the Yankees pulled out of it because their scouts saw some things they didn't like from him.

Anyone else annoyed that the Japanese club apparently was very excited about the offer, but is waiting til Tuesday to announce they accepted the deal.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs bid was low for Darvish in comparison to a higher than Dice-K bid.

I didn't figure we'd bid real high on him anyway after Theo already got JapBurned by Dike-K and the Cubs fan base w/ Fuk...Just slowly realizing all of the Cubs reporters apparently took a 2-month Christmas vacation...asked Boston to cover for them.

Well to be fair to the media here, it takes time to develop contacts within an organization. And Theo led front offices are notorious for not allowing leaks, and that Ricketts guy seems to be pretty good about that one too. So to me it isn't terribly surprising that no one in the Chicago media seems to have a clue what is going on.

So boston is just getting a hint, fabricating the rest and hoping for reads?

I wouldn't be surprised if what is being reported from the Cubs is either coming from the other teams or agents or is being leaked on purpose by the Cubs for a very specific reason. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs interest in Fielder is legitimate or is a smokescreen waiting for a situation like Rizzo to pop up. I just take everything said with a grain of salt until it is announced as official.

I agree these guys are really serious about theuir misdirection.

I think that this entire Garza to the Padres could be tied to the Cubs telling Fielder they have made a final offer.

More butt-hurt Boston "insiders".

LOL. Like this has anything to do with the story.

Cubs fans with this inferiority complex against Red Sox fans.

Here's a hint, The Red Sox aren't "butthurt" about Theo leaving. He was more than likely out of town after the 2012 season anyways. That's was pretty well accepted.

Not really news. I thought I hard heard it was down to Toronto and Texas.

I thought they said it was Toronto too, and that the Rangers bid was low. It's kind of waffly of the media. Guess we find out for sure tonight unless the Japanese continue to enjoy fucking with us

The baseball media is proving that they do not know anything.

When is the darvish announcement going to be made?

I think the Jays will win it as the media up here has sounded very confident about it.

Or the right people are staying hush hush about it.
