Well now this is confusing. You were just telling us which players will be great and which won't and then you say you don't even watch college football?? I don't get it.

Apparently you and FT are equally as Special person. I don't follow a single college program for an entire season of play because nothing is my alma mater. That is what following college ball means to me. I went to Devry for computer engineering not a college program with a football team. I watch random games and catch Bowl games. I own shoe stores and have a sporting goods store with TVs on every day showing sports...I see a lot of sports.

You made a direct statement.

I questioned it.

Not my fault you said something with nothing to back it up.

Having a problem with the ignore function?

Let's play a game.

Pretend xer0 didn't make the 1st statement about not watching college football. How would you respond to the rest of his post?

You're welcome to hit me with a #CalledIt at any point in the future. I called it when I said Alshon Jeffery was going to be the best 2012 receiver in the draft. Despite barely watching college ball at all. His reasons for dropping in the draft weren't about his talent or tangibles. We got a steal that year because of it. Ridley doesn't give me that star #1 vibe I would expect from a potential elite talent. In fact I would practically be willing to bet you that two other receivers in this NFL draft will out-produce Ridley for their rookie season. Anyone want to take that bet?

So does anyone want to make a guess that would be a 50-50 chance at getting right like you are?? Lol. If i remember right that was a very weak draft for WR's anyway so i wouldn't say that was some great call to say the best WR in college that year would be the best in the NFL even though he dropped in the draft because of his weight issues. LOL

Simple, he would find another stupid thing to pick apart or move the goal posts. And for the love of god, I said "I don't follow much college ball" which is not the same thing as saying I don't watch college football. Following college football implies a wide range anywhere from following an entire season of one college program's games or a shitload of college games. There are an assload of college football games played in any given season because of so many teams and divisions.

Wow you really are impressive. You have all that and you're like a football nostradamus and you still get to spend most of your days posting on a message board. Very Very impressive indeed.

I am 2nd generation. Everything was built off my father's blood, sweat and tears. I benefited from his hard work. But I've been working the business since I was 12 and I'm 34. Not exactly like I haven't contributed.

Nice deflection though since you're too much of a pussy to take that bet. A 50/50 would have been saying only one receiver would be better than Ridley. I am saying two receivers will out-perform Ridley. If Ridley is such an elite talent then why not take that bet and why would you be afraid of two receivers out-performing him?

How do you think the people in Tennessee feel about taking C.Warmack?

Everyone regrets taking any player who doesn't live up to expectations, regardless of position. Did you have a point beyond that? Because if you're trying to say that no one should draft a player if there is a precedent for a bust at his position & draft slot, then you are making an unbelievably stupid point, and I hope you can recognize that.

Hahahaha i love when people call names over the internet cause that usually shows who the real pussy is. I promise you wouldn't say that to my face and if you did you wouldn't do it twice. So no i'm not gonna take a bet on something that's a 50-50 guess. You have ZERO way of knowing what any of these players or any player that's ever come out of college to the NFL would be in the NFL and neither do i, which is why i don't make stupid bets like that. You would which also says something about you................Now go back and take care of the business that daddy handed over to you.

Oh my, such menacing, very intimidating. Wow. Really dude, I'm a big guy with a loose mouth. Nothing scares me. Short of having a gun to my head I don't give a shit to say what I think. You're still a pussy for not taking the bet if I am so wrong. Hell I am not even calling for it to be a money bet and you can't even commit to that. Doesn't sound to me like you're at all confident about Ridley.

I genuinely laugh at people with your mentality. "Now go back and take care of the business that daddy handed over to you." As if I am supposed to feel shame or guilt over my father being smart enough of a business man to put himself and his family in a position of success. My dad set me up for life with a business where I make great money with a ton of hard work. Oh you're working for the man? Sucks to be you. I don't give a shit. I got mine and if I ever choose to have kids with someone they will have their's too. See, that is how generational wealth is made genius. Its handed down from father/mother to son/daughter. Not working for some schmuck making him rich and making your kids press the reset button putting them 100K+ in debt before they even have a "career" working for the man.

I already responded. His comps make no sense. (He inserted Alshon Jeffery and Antonio Brown into discussion) He directly said you can find players like that in rounds outside if the first. I asked him who he thought the Bears could find this year in the draft that were comparable to those guys. He provided none because he doesn't watch college football.

There's zero left to say at this point. Xero can't continue the conversation.

He doesn't like Ridley as a prospect(based on what no one knows)..but either way that's fine. But he's completely unable to articulate and defend finding other WR's in this class if he doesn't like Ridley. I'm fine discussing other players, but he has presented none...because he can't.

So instead he devolves into "you're a troll, Rory, etc". Whatever. I'm not doing it anymore. If he wants to actually intelligently discuss players and options. Fine. But so far the take away is; Ridley, to him, isn't a first rounder or a high pick....and he can't name other players the Bears can get after the first round at the position because he doesn't watch college football.

Ok. Good talk.

Well for one i never said i was confident in Ridley so there's that and i could also see two of the WR's being better then Ridley will be so why would i take that bet dummy? I'm just not the kind of guy that ACTS like i know what any kid coming out of college will be in the NFL since not even the GM's that do this for a living can do that so i damn sure know that no fan can do it and be right. Now of course it's real easy to see which of these kids had great college careers and to watch espn and any other sports network or to go on the internet to see who all these so called draft experts are saying about any of these kids and just go off of all that on who i think will be great NFL players or where i think they'll get drafted but it's still just a guessing game.

About you getting your business from daddy. I wish i had parents that had money or a successful business to hand down to me but i never had any of that and have had to actually work for everything i have, and i don't have much. I own a small business that i won't get rich off of but i can live comfortably off of it and to know i did it by myself is something that brings some joy to me, but would i rather have a more successful business handed down to me that could be a hand me down business for my kids and their kids and their kids kids?? Absolutely i'd rather have that and am somewhat jealous of you and other kids who are lucky enough to have rich parents and know they'll be set for the rest of their/your lives. So you say it sucks to be me, maybe it does suck to be me but i'll take what i can get.

I keep thinking about Quenton Nelson and I really think the Bears can draft him, but there would be a couple of things that would have to happen,

1. You would need to be active in free agency to fix WR and CB, you can't have those as massive needs heading into the draft because you won't have the premium picks to deal with them.

2. You need to seriously look at trading down in the 2nd round. If you cannot throw quality at a couple of serious need spots than throw quantity at them.

3. You need to be realistic about 2018. If you want to compete than take an OLB or CB that will be an immediate upgrade in 2018. Nelson is probably going to be a lateral move in 2018 over Sitton. He will more than likely be better for the next 10 years, but he will not be an immediate massive upgrade like and OLB over whoever is playing that spot.

I don't agree with you there at all. There will be a lot of receivers available to the Bears with the 39th overall pick in the 2nd round. In fact I will be very surprised if more than 3 or 4 receivers are drafted in the first round. If they were to take an offensive lineman with the 8th overall pick I don't see any way where they can't find a receiver to take in the 2nd round. Or are you basically saying that you don't like any receivers that would be available with that 2nd round pick? At least enough to take them 39th overall.

I understand trying to get someone in free agency but I doubt Pace trys to buy all of his receivers. I expect him to draft someone.

Agree on point 1. I think WR can be fixed in free agency, without the need for an early draft pick. We've all played out the scenarios.

On point 2, IDK if that matters if point 1 is done. I think the Bears are NOT likely to pick 2 on either side of the ball with the first 2 picks. I definitely think a new offensive head coach is going to at least want 1 new young player to work with early in the draft. And I think he and Pace will make Fangio happy by adding a young player for him on the defensive side. But if you have fixed WR and CB in free agency, then you don't really have a ton of needs after OL and pass rusher and I'd rather sit and grab the best 2 players I can with the 8th and 39th pick.

On point 3, I agree for the most part. But if it's a lateral move on the field with he and Sitton, then Nelson will get the edge because he's much more likely to play 16 games while Sitton will likely miss multiple games. Nelson for 16 games > than Sitton for 12 + Kush for 4.

If people stopped stepping on Sitton's ankle it would sure help. That is two seasons in a row where they stepped on his ankle. Same ankle.

I think that they will still draft a WR,

But if you take Nelson at 8, you have 39 to fill WR, CB and OLB unless you make a couple of serious moves in free agency.

The real issue is that OLB sucks in free agency. If the Bears go Nelson at 8, they certainly need to prioritize the OLB at 39.

I see the Bears as having 4 premium resources this offseason as by y cap calculations they can probably reasonably afford 2 "splash" free agents.

If you pencil in OG at 8 you are either not addressing a need [CB most likely] or you need to generate more picks.
