Not even. Ramirez half asses it a lot, we all see it. But him having heart and him being the heart and the nucleus of the team is a bit different. So no, it's not close enough.

well the "heart" of the team is very bad and very wrong as well. so either way if my comparison was off they are both bad comments either way.

Ramirez is wrong? About? How can you say Ramirez is bad? He's been hurt, that's hardly being bad.

I'm bored right now, as I fell like shit. So, I thought I would come up with a trade that could happen, but probably won't.

Cubs get:
1B Billy Butler
2B Kila Ka'aihue

Royals get:
1B/3B Josh Vitters
IF/OF Ryan Flaherty
OF Chris Capuano
P Chris Carpetner
2B Blake DeWitt
1B Justin Bour

A more in depth look for the Cubs:

*The Cubs need a 1B that can hit and play OK defense. I know Butler is nothing spectacular on D, but I think he will help the Cubs.
*I think the Cubs need another 2B, and he would help more than DeWitt.
*Also their both cheap and young.
*Who knows if Vitters will make the majors, and I would trade him just in case, while his stock is not too low.
*Flaherty has been OK in the minors, but he's another one that might not make the majors. Also where would he play?? There might not be a spot open for him, and I don't think there will be.
*The Cubs have enougth OF in their minors ahead of Capuano. Guyer and Jacskon. Also, Colvin will be there still, with Sori (ugh).
*I think Chris Carpetner will help, but he's already 25 and not getting younger. In my own opinion, I think JJ, Archer and McNutt are ahead of him.
*If the Cubs did get the 2B, DeWitt will be a waste of a spot on the roster. They could keep Baker then because I think DeWitt will interest KC more than Baker.
*Justin Bour is still young, at 22, but he would be block by Butler. I think KC would take a chance on him, and move him to a different position, as he has some pop.

A more in depth look for the Royals:

*The Royals are rebuilding (when haven't they?), and would like to trade players for more spects. They have the top farm system in the minors, and more wouldn't hurt.
*I think KC would be open to trading Butler because they have a top 1B spect in their minors ready for the majors.
*There has been rumors that KC would trade their 2B and there's a good chance they will. So, why not trade him in a package for spects. They probably do have a good 2B spect in their minors. But, I'm not positive.
*Finally, if their top spects come up being stars, and their 1-3 positions away from being a top team, they can trade good spects for top of the line ball players.

Thoughts? This is something I came up with fast, so not much thinking went behind it. This is a trade I would do, if I were the Cubs. But, will KC do it? Probably not, but it could be close. Would you do it, and what do you think of the trade?

You can't prove that it was only because it did not matter.

In the first month of the season before things got hairy it kinda mattered.

2010 april-

23 games .152 BA .216 obp .498 ops

2007 playoffs

.000 ba .077 obp

2008 playoffs

.182 ba .250 obp

For the most part, Ramirez is clutch WHEN healthy.

Come on now Dewey,

We all know that Ramirez was hurt at the beginning of last year.

As for the playoffs, you can't use 6 games to judge whether or not someone is clutch or not.

i hate the word "clutch" so over used. you are simply basing your opinions on a player due to being "clutch". wrong way to evaluate talent.

Actually, I'm not.

I'm basing it off of WPA, which is Win Probability Added. Basically, each game you can help your team win or lose and it is all that added together. It's the closest thing we have to a clutch stat.

Isn't Kila a 1B?

Yeah...my bad, I was thinking of someone else with almost the same name.

After thinking about it, I think the Cubs should take a chance on Alex Gordon. He's only 26 years old, and his stock is low after last season. He could put up good stats, and with Rudy as the hc, I think he will play better.

The Cubs then can trade Rami, and will have a replacement then. Gordon is playing OF right now, but his natural position is 3B.

Also, the Cubs have tons of MI if their system. They also have 2-3 posible good SS. Also, they signed a Dominican SS, maybe he will turn out like Castro, but probably not. However, I don't think he has played yet, maybe next year. But, I don't know because of the visa shit.
