He was drafted by a different GM for a different coach for a different offense.

I think the point being made is when you draft a guy you tend to be more biased and may hold onto him for longer than his talent or effort warrants.

People are not saying dump him for shits and giggles. We are saying if Poles and Flus have determined he doesnt have the talent that people thought or doesnt fit the scheme or doesnt have the attitude they want, they are not going to hold onto him because they drafted him and dont want to admit they got it wrong so soon.

I just think it's both. Poor scheme fit and poor attitude. Why have that in the locker room. Jenkins just goes to show gingers have no soul.

Poles does have ties to him, this kid is on the team that he's in charge of, was a high 2nd round pick last year, we don't know yet because we haven't seen but this kid was a big name thrown around in last years draft as a day one starter type player, this team is screaming for talent right now................but hey Poles didn't draft him so trade him for a 5th round pick or whatever you can get. The dumbest shit ever.
Poles doesn’t have any ties to him. Poles also didn’t have ties to every other player he traded or released. Draft position has zero relevance in this situation…..get that through your tiny head. Maybe Poles does trade him for a 5th. But what sounds smarter? Trade him now for a 5th round pick now or have him on the bench all season only to release him for nothing next offseason? Read the room of what’s actually going on with this situation.

I half expect all of this hubbub to be a smokescreen and Bears will announce Jenkins needs another back surgery in a week.

Well yeah, that may be why he ultimately will no longer be a Bear, but he has already been deemed lazy bust with no potential by posters here and bears fans who just like to crap on Pace.
Going off of the speculation, if you aren’t showing up to training camp because you have beef with staff and mad about other things, than you are a lazy bust. At this point this has nothing to do with Pace.

Regardless of how you feel about Pace, Jenkins missed so much of last season to injury and the worst thing he could do for his reputation is now miss another large chunk of time due to conflict with coaches. Lets be real - his 6 games last year were NOT good enough to stand on its own as proof that he will be a good NFL player (that doesnt mean he wont improve although hard to get better if you arent practicing...), and now he has a 2 season track record of finding every which way to not be available to his team.

Here is 3 different years of me wanting Greg Roman. You can shut the fuck up now, you sniveling cunt. Just because you don't remember something doesn't mean it didn't happen. See you tmw.

And again, you evaded my question...Where were you campaigning for Roman once the hiring process started in 2022? You went silent on him. When it was time for real time decisions to be made you didn't have an opinion. You didn't bring up Roman likely because the Ravens offense sputtered and they missed the playoffs...In fact there was a group of ravens fans pushing to get him fired..

Three weeks ago this article appeared:

6 Bears players who need to have a great training camp

First name on the list - You guessed it:

OT Teven Jenkins

The chatter around Tevin Jenkins is concerning. Once regarded as a franchise left tackle, it now seems he might not have a defined role within the offense. Last year he struggled in limited playing time as he overcame a back injury.

But during the offseason program, he was moved to right tackle and later moved from the starting lineup to the second unit. Now, after the injury to Dakota Dozier, some are asking if the Bears should move Jenkins inside to guard.

Initially a right tackle in college, the move from left to right isn’t too concerning. But the move from starter to reserve created smoke, and maybe there’s an actual fire. If Jenkins is the starting right tackle, he’ll need to prove it in training camp. And if he’s getting moved inside, the Bears need to do it sooner than later.

That doesn't seem to be what's happening though.

Time to move on from this guy, one way or another.

Poles does have ties to him because he's a young talent at a position of huge need and we're in a rebuild where we need all the young talent we can get and most importantly, this is Poles' team now, so if you have that on your team then you have ties to him. I get it that he didn't draft him so there's no ties to him in that way but seems pretty fucking stupid to not give a shit about a young player in his 2nd year with an absolute ton of talent when your offseason has already been very underwhelming.

I don't need to read the room cause anywhere on here knows that @Anytime23's group will always stick together and it's mostly you losers doing all the talking.

Shit look how you losers came out to defend @Anytime23 when he was having a debate with @vabearsfan15. It was laughable like he can't handle himself in a one on one debate.

I'm not sure you understand what "ties to the GM" means. Any GM that comes into a new gig, all media will say regarding high priced players or prior drafted players on the roster as "the new regime doesn't have any ties to X player."

That is 100% speculation. You, nor does anyone else on this board know why Jenkins is not participating in camp. We don't know if he is pouting or if the staff told him to go home for a few days.
Well, we could look at this situation from a different angle...............

There is a line from the old Dirty Harry movie...............Mans got to know his limitations. Perhaps Jenkins knows his limitations in Getsy's offense. Perhaps he knows that as a power player he will never be successful in this offense, and it is Jenkins and his agent that have requested a trade. Then for Poles it would come down to if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Only my speculation, my opinion.

Are you arguing that this is a wrong assumption to make?

Because anyone who's paid attention to the NFL for longer than a minute has seen why people and media say this.

Shoot, when Angelo took over, they even had a joke about him having a woodchipper out back of Halas Hall because of the speed in which he was letting people go off the roster once Jauron was fired.

So not sure what you are trying to argue here.

He's clearly and obviously saying that Poles has no meaningful ties to Jenkins beyond being a player on the Bears.
