A Ghost Story - 5/5

A film about the lonely journey of a ghost and seeing time pass before his eyes. It's a profound and beautiful film. Very thought provoking. The score and cinematography are amazing as well.
I think people feel like this is just a movie they feel like they're suppose to say it was great cause, in truth, it sucked. Just slow and annoying. Could have made it 15 minutes long and missed nothing of importance.

Haha why exactly did it suck? If you're looking for Michael Bay type action then yeah it does suck.

It was just ridiculous. Kudos to the guy who can make such a low budget movie and get big profits from it but I wouldn't watch that again if you put a gun to my head. It annoys cause it doesn't go anywhere. I do understand the message it tried to convey but the damn thing just had no heart. It definitely tried hard, too hard even, to be all the things you mentioned but it just ends up being lifeless and alienating. The guy was terribly drab and boring before he died but gets far worst when you throw a sheet w/2 eyes cut out over him.

Fair enough, sorry you didn't like it. I loved it and I hope my recommendation wasn't the reason you feel you 2asted your Friday night on this movie. I should mentioned it was a slow burn.

Wonder Woman - 3/5

The best part for me was the long back story. She wasn't just being Wonder Woman for 75 % or more of the film. That said, it was some really bad CGI. As if they were using 10-15+ year old technology to do the filming. That really did distract me.

Blade Runner 2049-

I wanted so much to like this movie. I loved the original.
The original blade runner was a thinker, loaded with symbolism. (the only part that was a little dumbed down was the friggin dove. Hated that part.)

2049 moved at roughly the same pace as the original, plodding along with plenty of gaps in action... but there wasnt a ton of stuff to figure out or mull over during the down time. everything was handed to you on a silver platter.
The entire plot of the movie is a deus ex machina stemming from the conclusion of the original.
Instead of the plot building towards a grand statement on hope and the value of life and individuality, it devolves and resolves in an M. Night Shyamalan twist. Nothing more than a decent action movie.

* I should have known it was going to be a ham fisted mess half way through... there was a scene that keyed me in on it.
The Edward james olmos character Gaff was in this movie, and is being visited by the blade runner.
If you recall, Gaff provided the key symbolism at the end of the original.
Before Deckard escaped, as they were leaving his room, He finds that Gaff had been there while they slept- He was there to kill them, but chose not to (valuing all life). Instead, he leaves one of his oragami animals on the floor- a unicorn (symbolizing the unique and mythological nature of Rachel- no termination date).

... In the new movie, they visit Gaff in a nursing home to get information- he works on an oragami animal as they talk. At the end of the conversation, he places the animal on the table. It is a bull.
No matter what it was meant to represent in this movie, to me it represented the movie itself- a bull plowing through a china parlor with zero subtlety. actually made me laugh out loud.

Spider-Man Homecoming 1.25/5

Just an awful movie. Over the top phone in performance by Michael Keaton. The entire film felt like a gag, way too much humor and jokes. "Penis Parker, Penis Parker"...that's not funny, none of it was funny or even remotely original. Just a downright awful movie and one of the rare misses from Marvel Studios.

They Live 4/5

It had been 10+ years since I had seen it last. “I’m here to chew bubble gum and kick ass....and I’m all out of bubble gum!” I mean, do I have to say more?

Shit, that was a while ago. I remember I just watched cause Rowdy Roddy was in it. Was better than I thought it would be.

I'm surprised how much I liked this, I actually kinda loved it. Nice little creature feature to get you in the Halloween spirit. Plus it had hot chick's turning into Werewolves.

5/5

One of the best films of the year. Its about a young women found dead on an Indian Reservation in Wyoming. Great performance from Jeremy Renner. It's sort of a drama/mystery. I think you guys will dig this one. It also stars Elizabeth Olsen, she's pretty darn good too.

You're usually not that generous with awarding a "hot" for the womenz so not sure I buy it.

Don't wanna see it but I am curious who the killer was, my guess it was herself or something? Kinda like the movie Triangle. DM/Rep comment it if you dont wanna spoil it for everyone else.
