Watched two movies on Saturday:

Kingsman Golden Circle - 7/10

Fun movie, but IMO they tried to focus on way too many characters and it fell kinda flat.

Action scenes were fun though.

Dunkirk - 4/10

They took an interesting historical event and used it as a backdrop upon which to try to convince me I have Alzheimer's, I think?

The movie had no narrative of its own, it just rolled with exactly what happened during the historical event.

That's fine if you're making a documentary.... but a movie ought to have characters and plot.... tell a story within the confines of Dunkirk and allow that story to relay to the audience what Dunkirk was like and why various moments/people were important.

Dunkirk felt lazy.... like they just crafted a barebones plot with a handful of characters whom they gave no depth.

Been a minute since I’ve been on here. I’ve seen 3 more since, unfortunately, seeing the Snowman

Justice League 5/10

Definitely better than Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad. I personally thought it was better than Man of Steel, but I think people are split on weather this or man of steel is the 2nd best DCU movie. It’s by no means great, but I found it tolerable. Not as good as Wonder Woman, but worth a watch.

Coco 9/10

I loved this movie and I’m not a big animated movie person. Just another example of Pixar’s movie magic. What did suck is I saw this before they pulled Olaf, so I wasted 20 minutes of my life watching a terrible short film.

Bad Moms Christmas 3/10

Only saw this because my gf wanted to. I got a few laughs out of it. Overall, it’s not very good.

The Last Jedi.

1/5. Wanted to like it. Clunky, boring, and without soul. Rogue One was a Star Wars film. TLJ script writing was a room full of millennials banging on their virtual keypads until something resembling a story was discharged.

I'm on to you Disney.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
IDK how I skipped over this flick for so many years, but I watched Gung Ho for the first time. Rewatched with the wife, and she loved it too.

Loved Rogue One. This is no where close in my opinion. Still way better than the prequels but not as good as Force Awakens IMO. I still enjoyed it but the reviews led me to think this was truly up to Empire standards. It's not there at all.

You know what’s funny about force awakens the first few times I saw it absolutely 10/10. But as I kept on watching it over and over I was like a trestman nerd breaking things down like how the hell this Jedi chick with zip training beat out ren? Even anakin and Luke were shit without lots of training. They need to put more work into this stuff it seems lazy and rushed like they will make the money regardless.

The remake?
I liked the original and was looking forward to the new one..

I didn't know there was an original. This one came out this year and it's about medstudents purposely killing themselves for a min to see what it's like to be on the other side of death.

That's what the original is about, thus "remake." It is definitely one of the better Joel Schumacher flicks, with an all-star cast for the time: Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Billy Baldwin, and Oliver Platt were the main actors.
