Star Wars The Last Jedi 6/10

I don’t see why critics were heaping praise on this movie. While I don’t think it’s a bad movie, I definitely didn’t think it was great. The sub plot between Fin and Rose was stupid. I also didn’t like what they did with Luke at the end. And I may be in the minority, but I thought the scene where they brought back Yoda looked bad. I saw Mark Hamill’s comment that this wasn’t his Luke Skywalker before I saw the movie and I definitely see why he said it.

Something pretty fucked up, but I liked (6-7/10ish): Excision. Portrait of a teenage girl with social interaction issues/mental illness. The stylistic choices mirror the plot/subplot, which is always a plus for me when considering the effectiveness of a film.

Think: if The Cell were an indie film, rather than big-budget...and stretch what they had going on in that movie as far as psychological imagery (less impressive in execution [again, indie flick], but more pertinent to the subject). I say a portrait as it is less of a narrative, and more of a character examination a la Donnie Darko or American Beauty. Definitely not for the squeamish, but if you like flicks similar to those I've included, then give it a watch.

i never understood the hate for the cell from a lot of peeps.. i actually thought the movie was okay..

Me either, I like that flick. Sure, whats-her-name is a terrible actress, but the rest of the cast was solid and it did some really cool shit with the CGI/makeup combo.

The Last Jedi was light years ahead in disappointment than I ever anticipated. I haven't felt that bad after watching a movie in the theater in a long time.

When you're debating if Phantom Menace was better than this shit, there's a problem. I'd argue the Darth Maul fight scene at the end of PM was better than any scene in TLJ.

Rose was self induced vomit; Finn goes from being an integral character to side chick for the PETA hippie; Chewbacca turns vegan; Maz and Yoda were extremely forced; Luke becomes a pussyassbitch; Rey's and Kylo's long distance calls are paid for by Goldmember; and Leia is lol.

4.5/10

Bright gets a 6.75/10.

It was at a solid 7.5 for most of the movie until Tikka used some magic and did a spell for a certain someone. After that prophesied moment, felt like the magic was a little too big for their britches.

Overall, a really fun movie with cool concepts. Thought the elves kicked ass and I always love me some good buddy cop banter.

Seasons 5 and 6 of clone wars gets 10/10 very well done and a great bridge between episode 2-3. Anakin, sidius, dooku, and maul are allot better presented here then the movies. I need to watch a few movies and peaky blinders then going to watch Star Wars Rebels

Anyone see Black Mirror season 4? I thought it was pretty good. I'd give it an 8/10. My favourite episode was Black Museum; came close to White Christmas as far as favourites for the whole series.

The Last Jedi - 1/10

Well I got dragged out by the family to see this poorly edited and acted abomination of a movie. I give it one star because of the Porgs, they were kind of adorable. Didn't find Rey to be hot in this one. Oh and can we stop casting old foagies from the original films in the new ones please? Get rid of Yoda too, he looked awful. Also, stop using puppets, in 2017 they look stupid. The CGI was bad too, you'd think this being the biggest film of the year they'd put more time into it.

I hate Star Wars.

Jumanji welcome to the jungle 6/10

I can’t believe I can actually say I liked this movie. Before it came out I thought it was going to be a pile of shit. It’s a good, fun family movie. I can’t stand Jack Black, but I have to say he did a good job in this film. My issues were some minor plot holes and Kevin Hart’s character. While Kevin Hart was funny, it’s just his same schtick that he does in every movie. He didn’t play off the kid the way the other 3 did. I definitely think this movie is better than the original.

Hell or High Water>Sicario>Wind River

I just saw Wind River the other day. Unlike HoHW and Sicario, there is really nothing going on in this film. Very little to no subtext.

And the text that appears right before the credits...
missing persons statistics are kept for every demographic groups—save for Native American women, whose numbers remain unknown
has nothing to do with the film lol.

Spot fucking on hell or high water was 10/10 thanks for the recommendation
