My reading comprehension is fine, it's your jumping to conclusions that really fails. Way to use the gif I used the other day, you old fucking hack.

Way to miss the irony you cross dressing simpleton.

Hancock

6.8/10

Will Smith's acting sucks, and the whole dynamic with Charlize Theron is a bit odd. I do like the concept of Hancock as an anti-hero, and him in the beginning is pretty entertaining, to be fair

Looper

8.5/10

Pretty good movie. I liked how they didn't try to get in their own way with explaining the intricacies of time travel.
Few things did bother me:
-I don't really like their explanation for how the kid(AKA the Rainmaker) is basically a god. Why him? How does that work?
-Why did Bruce Willis not tell his wife to GTFO when he knew they were coming for him to close his loop? He knew his date 30 years in advance. His wife didn't have to die.

He looks old, probably someone numbers51 knows.

Are you obsessed with me? You should get back to discussing movies genres you hate, or acting fashion icons or something. Everyone loves it when you give detailed breakdowns of actors performances. Like a John Simon, if he paid another man to take the woman he loved to Paris and bang her.

I did not expect to like this movie, but I really enjoyed The Shape of Water. Sometimes a movie catches you in the perfect mood for watching it.

You're the one who tracks me down constantly you dolt. Who is obsessed with who? You're so pathetic...such a cranky broken down old clown. BTW, I'll post what I want, when I want. Either block me, ignore me, or **** off. Plenty of options for you to partake in.

I tried watching it on my fire stick but there were no HD streams, I'll try again...I'd like to see it. I did enjoy Pans Labyrinth so I'll likely think this is good.

Come on man, I thought we were bros, just having a little fun. Lighten up, I remember when you could take a little good natured ribbing. Maybe it's just a bad day for you. I'll back off, we can try again another time.

They are similar ideas. I think he refined the tale, and told it with a bit more skill in The Shape of Water.

What tale?

I really liked The Shape of Water but I'd take Pans Labyrinth over it any day. There's a darkness and maturity the film has that The Shape of Water never came near (partially because of a lack of trying). It's a kids movie in comparison, IMO.

My only complaint about The Shape of Water is that you never think that everything isn't going to be alright. The lightness at the beginning of the movie never transitions to anything more dangerous.

I disagree entirely. The Shape of Water was a more accomplished film, executed with greater skill.

*Edit. I should qualify by stating that I watched them in reverse. Both are fairy tales, and I didn't find Pan's Labyrinth particularly more mature.

How so?

Pan's Labyrinth was more mature, the stakes were higher (a little girl dies at the end for Pete's sake), and it was more realistic. The Shape of Water had the air of a musical. It was silly and cartoonish at times.

Pan's Labyrinth will continue to be seen as Del Toro's masterpiece.

See my edit. I don't feel Pan's Labyrinth was more mature in any way. Both were told as fairy tales, and I think he realized that, and the so-called reality of Pan's Labyrinth, which didn't really work for me, was discarded.

Pan's Labyrinth is not a deep movie. Neither are. I just felt The Shape of Water was a more entertaining watch. Neither are masterpieces, a word which is thrown around with great ease these days.

Warden, if you like movie musicals you'll love real musicals.
I used to think they were too *** and refused to see them until my wife forced me to go to one.
I've only seen a few myself; Hairspray, Wicked, and My Fair Lady, but they are a blast.
Still kinda ***, but the talent... and just something about live theater that just draws you in (it's probably the ticket price).

As for movie musicals I really don't dig'em too much, but really liked Sweeney Todd if you haven't seen it yet.

I've seen School or Rock, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Wicked, and Cats as Big Productions, smaller productions of Wizard of Oz, Don Quixote, Little Mermaid, Who Killed Elvis, Into the Woods. Except for Elvis, I've loved going. Better than most movies
