I had just watched Love and other drugs only a few days before Nightcrawler.
The difference in persona/acting/feel or whatever you wanna call it was immense.
Jake Gyllenhal is a good actor! very underrated, IMO.

I watched Darkest Hour over the weekend... 7/10

I liked it.... I like the historical period.

Idk why but it felt kinda short... like they wanted to compress Winston Churchill down to 90 minutes.

There was alot more to his leadership than just keeping them fighting in that one moment, but I suppose that was all the movie wanted to portray.

The Case for Christ - 9/10

Documentary of sorts of how Lee Strobel went from Atheism to Christianity. I knew parts of his story ahead of time, but this filled in so much more than I knew. I need to read the book.

Annihilation - 4/5 Really good sci-fi film with exceptional visuals and a great cast.the ending was kinda tippy but it worked.

Veronica - 2.5/5 Not really scary and didn't really bring anything new to the table. The young cast did a really good job though, that's always a pleasant surprise. It's really hard for me to buy into a movie that revolves around a board game though.

Love, Simon 8/10

Not normally my type of movie. Only ended up going because it was something my gf wanted to see, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was well done and I would recommend it. Obviously, if you’re still one of those that is offended by *** people then this isn’t for you.

Tomb Raider 5/10

This is one of the better video game movie adaptations. It wasn’t great, but it stayed faithful to the new era of Tomb Raider video games.

Jessica Jones season 1 6/10

I’ve seen daredevil, punisher and the defenders so I figured I’d go back to this one since it had a decent amount of hype around it and season 2 was coming out. I enjoyed it, but I had one major issue with it and that’s that I couldn’t buy into her as a person with powers. The scenes that showed off what she could do looked so fake to me. I couldn’t buy into that part of the show. That being said, I’ve seen the first two episodes of season 2 and it looks much better. I’m guessing they were given a bigger budget this time around.

7 out of 10

Good acting maybe a little bit to much sex scenes and gore scenes but a few surprises mixed in to make it worth while.

Just got back from Love Simon, it was mostly meh to me. For one, I thought it was absurd that a high school in 2018 would care about some random nobody with like 3 friends being ***. The movie would make more since if it came out (pun unintended) in the 80s.

Coco, 6/10. Some people I know raved about it and I wanted to love it but it was a little too Disney for me. I probably would have enjoyed it more on the big screen.

I watched that Get Out movie. I really don't understand all the praise this film got. While it wasn't as bad as Downsizing, it was just as confused about what it was. Very meh.

It is very overrated, and the ending was M.Night like nonsense. The lead actor was terrific though.
