I did not expect to like this movie, but I really enjoyed The Shape of Water. Sometimes a movie catches you in the perfect mood for watching it.

They brought it back to the theater I go to after it won some Oscars. Going to see it today...I’m pretty excited to finally get to see it

Warden, if you like movie musicals you'll love real musicals.
I used to think they were too *** and refused to see them until my wife forced me to go to one.
I've only seen a few myself; Hairspray, Wicked, and My Fair Lady, but they are a blast.
Still kinda ***, but the talent... and just something about live theater that just draws you in (it's probably the ticket price).

As for movie musicals I really don't dig'em too much, but really liked Sweeney Todd if you haven't seen it yet.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hamilton.

Shape of Water is a 9/10 for me

Sally Hawkins was excellent. That was definitely an oscar worthy performance...even though she didn't end up winning. I thought the cinematography was beautiful. Glad I was able to see it on the big screen. It most likely isn't something I would personally watch again, but it's a great movie and I'd recommend seeing it.

You make it sound like a documentary.

But yeah good film. Put it on as background noise one night and ended up getting really into it.

Annihilation.... 5.5/10 the message ' some of us are self-destructive'. Overall plot kinda stupid. Natalie Portman is not the greatest actress.

Black Panther.....8.5/10.....a lotta hidden messages in this one. What some might ask is who's the "real hero" of the movie Black Panther or Killmonger ( yeah, I get it he was written as "the villain"...but was he )

Death Wish......7/10......good action. Bruce Willis is pretty good. I didn't grade it higher cuz we need more fresher movies. There's just to many " recycled / remade movies".

Red Sparrow.......8/10 good plot ...lots of double-crossing and twists. NOT a kids movie. This is the closest thing I've seen to a "X rated" movie. More nudity and sex than I expected.

The rating was.......

But This is a lot closer to "X rated". It's closer to "no one under 21"

There is no official X rating anymore, it is long gone and used unofficially for porn sales. NC-17 replaced X for a number of reasons. Anything that is NC-17, but feels like it should be X, is like saying there was a glass of sugar on the table, but it looked more like salt.
