I have a ton of new images to associate with the moon landing that I didn't have before. For example I never saw them return to Earth with all of the people waiting for them on the aircraft carrier. Also, seeing the restored film like that was great. They made 1969, look like yesterday, especially during the outdoor scenes when you see all the spectators.

It was a nice experience. The fact that there was no modern narration or interviews made the movie seem like something pulled from a time capsule. As someone born way after '69, I really enjoyed it.

I just got home from seeing Captain Marvel. I’d put it in the lower tier of MCU movies. It was good, just nothing special. The effects used to make Samuel L Jackson look younger were really good. If you go in with high expectations, you will most likely be disappointed. I know early on there was a lot of people hyping it up to be something great and it’s nothing close to that.

Ten being the highest.......how do u rank it? How was the dialogue?

I'd probably say a 5 or 6. The only MCU movies I liked less than Captain Marvel are: Iron Man 2/3, Captain America First Avenger, Thor Dark World and the Incredible Hulk. So I've got it near the bottom. Dialogue wasn't that bad. For me, the story wasn't that great and Captain Marvel as a character wasn't fleshed out all that well. I don't think Brie Larson is all that great as this character either. She's a good actress, but this may not be the role for her.

How many comic book movies is enough?

How different can they be?

Aren't the stories all basically the same?

(I will duck, knowing shit will be thrown at me for asking.)

If true they are at fault. Basically was like pimping them out for dreams of fame and fortune. Idiots

There are no clear motivations, goals, or stakes until about halfway through Captain Marvel. Up until that point it's a mess.

Also while being an origin story for Nick Fury, it was more of just an introductory for Captain Marvel. I didn't feel like she went through a significant change or journey as a character.

I don't know if I've mentioned it before on this site but once again I'm left dumbfounded by the pre-production creative decisions. One of the writers who was brought in to write Captain Marvel was the woman who wrote the latest Tomb Raider. The movie that came out just last year, but you probably forgot existed.
That movie got bad reviews, didn't make a lot of money, and had no cultural impact. Yet apparently, someone in charge of Captain Marvel picked up the phone and said "bring me the girl who wrote Tomb Raider!"
Why? I don't understand...

I can't believe all you white guys are seeing Captain Marvel since that stiff Brie Larson doesn't care if you guys watch her movies.

Honestly I don’t do that boycot shit even if hollyweird pisses me off. I’m not going to stop enjoying life on their behalf

With that said based on reviews so far I would 100% skip it. But my nephews asked to see it and my niece usually gets dragged along to see marvel movies that are focused on male lead roles. When I see how happy she gets with the female heroes it makes it worth spending the money even if I have to go through two hours of cringe

Couldn't you make this argument of any type of movie?

Why make more romantic comedies? They have the same fundamental plots.

Why make more action movies? They have the same fundamental plots.

Why make more crime thriller movies? They have the same fundamental plots.

Why make more kids movies? They have the same fundamental plots.

lol....just watched the previews of Captain Marvel and I saw elements of Alita: Battle Angel Amazing, the lack of originality in movies today.

She's a good actress, but this may not be the role for her.

based on the previews I agree. Also based on the previews her acting seems stiff & uninspired ( just like that guy in Aquaman)
I'll see it ......but as u say, I'm going in with real low expectations.

Some ppl. read comic books (me included.) as kids. So there's a demographic for it.

Yes & No . The good guy / bad guy theme is always there. But the characters & plots are different.

I take it, u never read comic books as a kid.

And that’s the problem with these liars so many bullshit cases out there that it unfortunately hurts real cases. It’s pretty sad. And why didn’t they do this expose years ago when he was alive? It’s easy to do this when the alleged perp is dead

I've always wanted a Black Widow movie. Idk why they keep skipping her to create a stand alone for other women like Capt Marvel

I believe I saw something where they are casting a young black widow. It will be an origins flick and not a present time movie

And at the time avengers first came out idt they were confident enough that a female centered hero will bring in the money. After Wonder Woman which is the only worthwhile dc flick they see if they produce a good flick we will spend our money. People just like to enjoy their time

Saw Capt Marvel. 5.5 / 10. Not gonna lie.....I was ready for it to hurry up and end, so I could see the prelude to the next movie.
