Saw Captive State 6.7/10.

It's more of a set up for a sequel. There are elements in this movie that I've seen b4, just can't think of the movie ( it was a alien movie that took place in L.A., not "battle for Los Angels".....another one).

I'm not knocking it. Outside of the prevalent homophobia throughout the movie I thought it was a fun enough flick.

The Godfather was a "gangster movie" (film). It had nothing to do with a 'fear of homosexuals'. Are we talking about the same movie?

wow...I can't believe i watched all of this. :speechless:

The guys first mistake was talking to the street guy ( on the platform). Next mistake, walking outside the Subway to talk with the street guy again (when he shouda' called and waited for the police to escort he and his wife outta of the Subway...to the Uber or where ever) . Another.....mistake was not being aware of the street guy, just before he punched him.

Their best move.....going back to Arizona Hopefully they stay there.

Godfather - 6/10. It was okay. Dragged on at times, decent action other times. A good popcorn flick but nothing to write home about

I always thought it was pretty dull. I'd much rather watch Goodfellas or On The Waterfront.

What was dull about it?
The thing I liked was the great acting and story-line . I mean, most movies today have horrible to mediocre acting. As well as, lousy unoriginal story-lines

Part of Godfather was a "period piece" moving from the 1900's to the 50's- 60's-70's (I thought that was cool).

Yeah Goodfellas was good too. Never saw On The Waterfront all the way thru, but I'm sure the acting was great.

I think you're reading too much into it. It's literally just human beings pretending to be people in front of a camera. Calling it a "period piece" is ***. It's a solid 6 out of 10 and a movie that I enjoy having popcorn while watching. That's all.

The Godfather is completely overrated as a film...then again I find gangster movies off putting. It's my second worst movie genre next to Westerns.

Go back and read ur 1st comment on the Godfather (which I addressed). Now ur calling it "***"....whatever that means in ur world.

So......
What I said was "Part of Godfather was a "period piece" moving from the 1900's. Anyway, u see it as a 6/10.
I see it as a 9/10.

I see it as a well-crafted movie ( I think most serious movie-goers do to). You don't. Maybe u have the wrong movie. So Have a good one.

Totally....understandable. You don't like that genre' of film.

I don't go in for "rom-com" movies (except if I'm on a date and the woman wants to see it). I'm kinda' so-so on Westerns ( haven't seen any come out in recent yrs)

Went and saw The Upside with the wifey, it was an entertaining no brane kinda movie. I enjoyed it for a matinee.

Oh and strange thing. The theater that we randomly went to had the fewest seats I have ever seen in a theater. It was maybe a total of 40 - 50 seats in the entire place. Strange times.
