I'm seeing it Saturday... let me know what you think.

I liked it and thought it was pretty good. I didn’t think it was great like a lot of other people are. I also felt the same way about Get Out. Although I think this movie is better. I loved the chemistry between the 4 main cast members and how the dialogue between them was written. It felt like I was seeing a real life family. It was well acted.

The thing that stands out the most about US is that it has a scale and scope that most horror movies don't have today (or ever). There are times where it feels like you're watching more of an action or adventure type of film. You're not being streamlined to the end like in those ghost/demon movies that take place inside of a single house. This is something more along the lines of The Ring or Final Destination, they're out and about and you don't know exactly where or how it all will end.

To pretty much copy RoseMVP1, I don't think it was great, but it was good and interesting. I'll take it over Get Out any day of the week.

I thought M'Baku was a great comic relief. Plus while Lupita is rightfully getting good reviews for her performance, I think the girl/daughter in the movie also did a real good job playing her creepy doppelganger. And though the white family of course are side characters, I thought Elizabeth Moss was impressive.

Both u and RoseMVP1 say it gets the nod over Get Out. That's saying a lot. I'm curious as to what gives US the nod over Get Out
Note....I haven't seen US yet.....maybe this weekend.

It has a black director so its automatically better in 2019.

I also liked US better than Get Out. I feel there was a lot more to it than Get Out in terms of the underlying message, I really liked it.

I have not seen Us but I talked to a friend who said he didn’t think there’s anything to it at all. didn’t like it nearly as much as get out and thought it was really very cliché

I may see it b4 the weekend is out. What I read is that parts of it was inspired by one of
Rod Serlings Twilight Zone features ( I'll have to reconfirm this)

What no one is saying is.....what's the one thing that makes US better than Get Out.

As long as money is not a problem, of course you should see it. Even if it's not good, it's something that is gonna have pop cultures attention for some time. People will soon start asking others "whats your favorite Jordan Peele movie?" the same way they do Nolan currently. For now, Jordan Peele having a new movie out is relevant, it's a thing. So you might as well get in on the action.

What no one is saying is.....what's the one thing that makes US better than Get Out.

I was never a Get Out guy to begin with, so it's not saying much that I like US better. However, I will say that US is a proper horror/thriller movie, while Get Out was more of a satire with no fight or flight situations until the end of the movie. Here the characters know they're in danger and don't spend most of the movie walking around taking pictures.

Watched Ben is Back last night. Story about addiction and overdose. I thought it was average. Certainly not a much watch, but wasn't terrible. 7/10

Shazam was awesome. I didn’t have any real expectations going into it, but I walked away throughly impressed. I think this is the best DCEU film to date. I only had one problem with it, but I can’t get into it since it does spoil part of the film. This was definitely a pleasant surprise for me. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did.

I may very well see Us, but I certainly don't buy into the argument that I "need to see it even if it is bad, because people will talk about it".

Us was an 8/10 to me, I thought it was a great movie.

I enjoyed the story, the pacing, the comic relief.... lmao at the kill count discussion.

I can't compare to Get Out as I haven't seen it.

Peele is a heck of a writer/director.

Saw Us this weekend and thought it was good. Definitely enjoyed it more than Get Out. That doesn't mean much bc I didn't think Get Out was that fantastic, but I really enjoyed Us

Saw US I'll give it a 6.8/10.

For those comparing it to Get Out.....ya' really can't. They were two very different movies. US is more of a typical slasher-type horror film. Where as Get Out was a more cerebral, psychological film ( it's wasn't your typical, 'lets just watch a horror film, disconnect and jump every-time something/someone pops up after a silence').

Get Out
required one to actually analyze and think about what was going on in the movie.
There was a lot of symbolism going on. There were different issues being covered in Get Out on different levels. So back to the point.....US & Get Out were 2 very different
films.
