Ohhh I read the whole thing, I just found the final statement particularly comment worthy as it seemed to imply that you yourself could do no wrong. I have also been contemplating leaving this site for some time now, and internet boards in general, and this seems as opportune a moment as any. Take care guys.

Well you miss read, If you read the whole entire post you would realize I was directing all of it to the ones who consistently talk about the players who got dealt and dale tallons contract.

as far as me doing no wrong, that can be discussed anytime in any of the threads that you may disagree with me on.

i have never had any problems with you from PSD and I am not looking to have one now, it is the internet.

If you are leaving because of certain people (or me being one of them) than I would say to you, it isnt worth leaving over disagreements on a message board.

We are all fans in someway, the word "fan" downstreams to different categories in sports especially the hawks. so with that said, with the different downstreams there will always be debates and or shit that doesnt make sense.

I just got here, but I don't think the site is clown shoes. I think there could be more activity. I think that some posters are freaking jokes (no names yet). And I think that I enjoy the Blackhawk faithful here. I enjoy that some people don't like/agree/understand the moves the 'Hawks were forced to make in the offseason. That can spark some serious debate.

Overall I have enjoyed my time here. I would hate to see more of the awesome Blackhawk posters leave because they think this is clownshoes.

Joehawks does say alot of dumb shit/complaining....and i believe he understands the details of why players have been moved, but IMO i believe he is one of those always "negative" guys and gets frustrated with his teams that he cheers for very easily and forgets to rationalize the situation due to his volcanic personality. It isnt a rip on him, because I actually like the guy and like some of his posts, he just sometimes gets a little bit dramatic when he calls players out. It is his personality and he has the right to be that way whether it is wrong and just plain stupid.......look there are other posters on here that are far far more worse than him when it comes to their teams.

If anyone doesnt like him or anyone for that matter put them on ignore.

I do know this, joehawks is a good kid.

For my money the question of using the 'ignore' function is a personal one; however, in this sense it also calls in to question the relevance of the community as a whole.

When I wrote that I had felt like Iago at times, I should have been more specific, as -I don't feel like participating in a community that becomes nothing but an echo chamber. At that point a community becomes meaningless -and you know, what I am saying is that from what I can tell there isn't really much of a reason for this to be happening. It goes further than simply putting anyone on ignore -as new members are not going to know that -and in that sense - people do judge a book by its cover -it is the nature of internet forums.

Now that being said - let's talk some relativity for a second, and I've alluded to HF a couple of times over my time here -what you have on that board is a guy who joined the same time I did there (Jun 2007) I've got like 397 or so posts there - this other guy has over 30 thousand (no exaggeration) - when I analysed this some months back -this guy had to have posted something like 756 per month, every month for 41 months - or if you call a month 30 days -that is 25 posts per day .... every day of the year ... 41 months straight.

Never mind that this guy talks shit too - but the fact is - the signal to noise equation there gets flooded out of existence....

From a community standpoint, that is something that you really are not going to want in an abstract sense -as it eventually sucks any life out of it.

I'm not dumping on anyone personally- but you know - just consider the community, please, and consider turning it down a notch.

i understand that, but at the same time it is not as extreme as this site being clown shoes, which totally isnt correct. we are all focusing on this one small topic and one small person when the majority of the hawks forum has great discussions imo

you can say that about every thread in all the forums, and that is across the board in the cyber world.

"Clown Shoes" was someone else. I don't think I have ever used that term before this post. :)

I am not saying that is what will happen, but rather - that is what seems to be happening as well, based upon what people are saying on this board.

you can say that about every thread in all the forums, and that is across the board in the cyber world.

But we, the community here, have a say in that here. That's what I am saying too.

(Edited: I should add too that the tune it down a notch thing was not at all directed at you Dewssox).

I am cool as a hog in a warm puddle of mud :)

yes the community does have a say in it for sure, you can either ignore or yo can engage the target. ignore is the best, but if you engage the target you have to make sure that you are not throwing more fuel on the fire....when i say you i mean it as a general term for anyone who engages the other party.

its all good, nothing is perfect. we will get through this.

it has basically become joehawks vs dero and that is where the problem on this forum is. joehawks needs to back off the crazy comments unless it is his emotion getting the best of him, and dero has to lay off calling him names. if those two can become civilized and start fresh i would be happy, or at the least ignore each other.

dero is my boy, and i am one of a few here that likes joehawks and sees potential in what he states sometimes.

gotta love cyber drama!

:)

Going to agree with Joe. I'm surprised there isn't more panic right now on these boards. Hawks have played 14 games, the most by far of any team in the NHL. If the other teams in the West had all played 14, odds are that the Hawks are on the outside looking in for the 8th playoff spot. The 8th PLAYOFF SPOT Folks?

I wouldnt go as far as stating the 8th, but pretty damn close. If it keeps up I am going to take away all the kool aid.....wait.....the hawks are starting to do that already.

Wait until the schedule balances out, that is what i am worried about.

We'll see how it all plays out, but 14 games does not a season make. I hope, and do think, we'll be in playoff position when all is said and done. That's my expectation; I really don't care what seed it is. Sure, it'd be nice to win the division again, but tell me that after last year, aren't our sights aimed to something bigger? As for seeds, they're only a silly number next to a city come playoff time. Remember, we weren't the Kings of the West last year in the regular season and not to mention, if you watched any of last year's playoffs (especially in the East), you'd easily recall how significant "seeds" were.

As I agree with what you are saying, maybe I am communicating this wrong, I think in my heart we will make the playoffs, I am just worried maybe too soon about the playoffs, basically i worry what will happen when we get in.

You have to remember that we were without Campbell until monday, and we were without Hammer for 2 games, Hossa (probably our best 2 way player) has missed the last 2 games

Once this team gets healthy and can get into a groove, we will show how dangerous we really are...

He was saying its misleading because the Hawks have played more games which is true but if you look at my post I showed GAA/game and the Hawks still have the most. It's bad.

Yes, that's true.

But, when your defense consists of Cullimore, Boynton, Scott, you have problems.

Stan needs to upgrade at the 3rd pairing.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there

Cullimore should have only been a temporary solution, and Boynton would be better suited as our 7th defenseman cycled in to give another guy a day off

and Scott should be put on the 1st line :D
