So...guys...The 'Hawks have 7 points in their last 5 games...and have outscored opponents 20-14 over the span. But, I'm sure a couple of you are still convinced we're missing the playoffs.

I'm guessing you don't actually watch the games because if you saw the Calgary game your song would change its tune fast.

Typical bump from you. Up 3 points on a 13th place team.

Woo, get dem pom poms out.

Also, lets just ignore the fact they've given up the 2nd most goals in the West.

we're not going to win every single game fellas. I know calgary beat the crap out of us...and how to we respond? By beating a good Vancouver team 7-1...on their ice.

But, I didn't figure you all were still reading this anyway...with the season being over and all...

There was nothing good about Vancouver tonight at all. Horrible goaltending, horrible defense, and they had like 3 quality scoring chances off the PP. Also we normally shell The Nucks at the GM Place.

How about you wait till we play consistently good for 6-7 games before we declare everything is ok in Hawks land.

And the 'Hawks don't get any credit for any of that?

Look fellas, I never said the hawks are great this year, or should repeat, or anything like that...I've just said I think some of you are writing them off way too early in a long season.

I'm not declaring anything is ok. There is no excuse for that Calgary performance other than maybe you could say that Calgary was due (if you watched the game, you'd agree that's still bullshit though).

BUT, taking 2 out of 3 road games in 3 nights- both wins being dominant- is something. Just the fact that the Hawks have been out-shooting teams lately is kind of a big deal. Baby steps.

No, things aren't good yet, but anytime you take 2/3 road games in 3 nights is a positive.

I am not saying I am not overall please over the past few games with the team. I am fairly happy.

Still to deny that we don't still have serious issues is absurd, and why? Because we beat the worst team in our conferance in Edmonton and then shelled a team that played awful against us in Vancouver?

Shark, Ducks, Kings are next up. 3 strong performances against all 3 teams and I will feel less jumpy about this team. Kings are a huge test, we need to really impress in that game.

all be it a sample size, it is a small step forward, and now they have to make this not a sample size but a full size...which we will know in time.

Wings come back & win 5-4. (was down 4-2).

Sorry, they're hands down the best team in this division.

BTW, how can anyone say you don't miss some of the guys we dealt or let go?

Yet, stick up for shit like Pisani, Stalberg & Skille?

:rolling:
We all miss our team from last year, but, we can't dwell on the past, it's a new season, and the new guys need to be given a chance. I'm not a huge Turco fan, he's on some days, and really bad on others, [ hello Flames? ] We can comment on their play, their stats etc, but, one thing they have on all of us, is.. they were good enough to get into the NHL. Hopefully this circus trip will give the team a chance to gel, because, they certainly need it.
oh, and December 5th, paybacks. Time to extinguish the Flames.
