Just because he develops kids with heart, passion, and fire, doesn't mean squat if the cheap team poops the bed when it counts.

Except he doesn't develop those kinds of kids. He develops kids that have baseball talent, which is a very great ability to have.

O yea and what about the pitching staff Epstein put together? Not at all World Series caliber. Some of the staff got hurt so what did Epstein do? Nothing. Nothing at all.

Longoria is the only postional all-star they have.

OK if he develops pitching, it doesn't matter considering Wrigley is a hitters park?

He did put a World Series caliber team together, too bad the team faltered when it mattered most.

Right, because baseball *isn't* a game of luck at all. 5 game sample sizes really show that his uber young team failed. Right.

And yea he develops guys like Longoria, Price, Zobrist, and now Matt Moore. But he can't keep anyone around like Crawford because he can't offer good players money.

So that means that the Cubs don't need pitchers? Funny, could have swore that all teams needed pitchers.

A great pitcher is negated by Wrigley, between the short fences, and the fact that 3/4 of the Cubs home games are afternoon games.

Cubs aren't going anywhere until they build a new park, extend the fences, or eliminate day games beside getaway days.

Thread title sucks because it makes it seem like news was broken or something. And since it not news or informative at all, it should be added to the Epstein thread that's already going.

Density FTW :shot:

It's called sarcasm bro. And just because Wrigley is *sometimes* a hitters park, doesn't mean jackshit. Hell, that means that we need pitching more than if we were in a hitters ballpark. You make really illogical arguments.

I'm not asking for 10 better players. I'm saying that you can't refute my argument that he could be considered a top 10 player, which he definitely could.
