The fact we are a meat grinder for QBs is reason why if we had a QB that looked like a top 10 QB like Watson did, that we would give Pace a pass on the injury.

The way Watson played, he would have to miss significant time for several seasons before people started crying like they did with White because we are desperate for a QB.

Good post. Fact of the matter is Trubs seems like a good kid. And as a Bear fan of course I will be pulling for him. Its not his fault that Pace selected him early and passed on a franchise changing talent and personality like Watson. But if you have to quantify the value of a QB by scrutinizing numbers SOMETHING IS WRONG. The great QB's -- you FEEL them -- they have a "presence" about them -- their story is not told strictly by looking at numbers. They say Joe Montana had a glow about him and could lead and inspire men to PLAY ABOVE THEMSELVES -- this year's Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield has that now. Tom Brady.... the same way. That is what the Bears needed most. Not another grinder type QB that just sorta gets the job done. At pick #2 you want to transcendent player that elevates the entire franchise. You want a guy that will galvanize your team to play above their talent level -- the "IT" factor.

I don't see that in Trubs right now. Still pulling for him though.
