I mean, that’s was the plan. The front office wasn’t expecting to go to the big dance this year with their first full set of draft picks and FA. The front office is optimistic and says the right words at the press but they ain’t stupid.They replaced one scrub for another. ?
Real help ain’t coming till the draft.

Khareem had 70.1 and 86.3 PFF grades the last two years with 73.6 and 91 in run D.
Think this is simple. Bears didnt want to carry 3 guys ie Yannick, Lewis and Gipson whose run D was suspect and kept the guy who pairs terrible run D with consistent pass rush. Gipson and Lewis dont have evidence of consistent pass rush to make up for their terrible run D. That and they likely want another year to see if Robinson can become a factor.
