The D'Backs would take a "good young starter" as the "centerpiece" of an Upton trade, tweets David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Other players would obviously also be involved.

If that is the case that puts a guy like Matt Garza in play, but too bad he's broken.

The Cubs could target OF Shave Victorino. As teams don't seem to value him too much. But I can't see him. He won't get a 1 year contract and I have to beleive he will be out of the Cubs' price range.

There's not a lot of OF availabe. Upton is, if a team doesn't care to lose a draft pick. Bourn is and the Reds or Nats seem like a likely candidate. Hamilton is if a team is willing to overpay. Also, Melky is ancould be a good signing. A low bargain OF is Tori Hunter and he wants a multi year contract and is decling. So, we'll see if a team jumps on that.

There's about 5 OF, with close to 8+ teams looking for an OF. I just can't see it whatssever.

Probs not the über guys like Wil Myer or anything but I can see them getting a B prospect and a Major League stiff to balance the dough.

Navarro, Scott Baker and Camp signings bump the 40-man to 39 in advance of tomorrow's deadline to protect guys from Rule 5. Expect a flurry of moves (or not, depending on how the Cubs think) in the next several hours.

i would expect some moves to protect couple of guys. Why did they announce Navarro, Camp signings now? i would have waited a bit to save some room
