The more I keep hearing about Williams the more I don’t want anything to do with him. I’d this is true I hope he returns to school. I understand MHJ returning is he is indeed being offered $25 million to return and his passion for OSU. Williams returning would mean he’s leaving his second school and the coach that led him to a heisman trophy. I just hope Justin balls out the rest of this season and this becomes an after thought.
I agree with all of that. But, if you were in his shoes, honestly, would you want to play for the Bears?

Just out of curiosity, can someone list the quarterbacks who did better against top five teams than they did against the general population

Absolutely, I’d want to play with a big market team with a huge fan base with the unique opportunity to become the greatest quarterback in their 100 year history. Not to mention being on a young team with a great core of players to grow together with.

That's fair. I respectfully disagree, but that's okay too.

Maalik Murphy enters transfer portal. Makes sense, very crowded QB room at Texas. Can't believe that either Ewers or Manning aren't transferring out too.

Point is there's a big difference from when players, making nothing, couldn't wait to get NFL money. These players, now, are already millionaires. They can easily afford to wait another year to chase a college championship or for whatever reason.

Really so you ready to ban bet on it? There is no prospect that has turned down 36m guaranteed to go back to school.

I mean uscs talent (while Williams was there), especially this year, has generally been far inferior to ranked teams they are facing. Even good qbs struggle when the other team is significantly better at the college level

And you think the Bears are that much better?? Nope!

Think you're taking things out of context yet again. Merely said I have heard the rumors of both Williams and Harrison Jr. could stay for another year in college. Then pointed to the rather obvious fact that college players will not feel as much hunger for that NFL money since they are already millionaires. Why that causes you so much butthurt, I'm not sure.

We aren't talking college plays. We were talking Williams who stands to make a **** ton more coming in than staying. It is perfectly logically to argue for a guy staying when his NIL money is close to what he can make in the NFL.. the issue is Williams NIL money is nowhere close to what he can make in the NFL so yes the hunger is still there for him most likey.

I didn't say it was close. Still he has made millions and would make probably more next year if he stayed. It's not a move he has to feel the need to make just based on money. If he was making no money at all, then it would be. It's not like he's leaving any NFL money on the table. He would still get the same type 4 year deal or better in '25. We also don't know how much he could make next year as I'm sure a big deal would be made about him staying. He could make Bronny type money next year if he stayed .

Lol Bronny money is still only 5.9m compared to 36m guaranteed with 20m in the first year. So no it still makes no fucking sense.

He also would be risking falling in the draft due to poor performance or injury which is a dumb risk to take when you are the No 1 or No 2 pick.

And he is leaving NFL money on the table. Starting his career one year later means he loses one year of making massive NFL money. Let's say he plays to 35. If he comes out now he would have 13 years in the NFL. If he stays then he would only have 12. That year he loses is going to be a year where he could have made 50m+ because he would effectively be losing a year on his 2nd or year beyond his 1st contract.

Bronny money is about 8 mil.NIL money made is only ever an estimate. You'll see the NIL amounts vary from source to source. NFL 1st contract would be an average of about 9 mil per year even as the bigger chunk comes with the signing bonus which he'd still get the following year.

Not leaving a dime on the NFL table. That money will only ever increase. Going to start seeing the best young QBs get that long Mahomes type deal so you're really just playing for that huge 2nd contract, which would only come a year later. And what if he ain't great and doesn't get the big 2nd contract, then he's only increased his college/NFL earnings by several million just by staying the extra year. He's not had a good year this year so why would one think he'd have a worse year next year, especially if he's thinking he is better setup for success? And what kind of QB draft class is it in '25? He'll easily still be #1.

If true, don't even want a guy like that. Do players really think they are going #1 and most times going to an ideal situation?
I like to see those that embrace it, not those who run from it.

Williams is not getting 8m a year. His NIL is around 3m.

And no it is 3m-5m in 2024 vs 20m signing bonus in 2024 plus another 15m guaranteed. You still have not addressed the injury risk.

Finally, again if you play until 35 then it would be 13 years if he comes out now but only 12 years if he stays another year. So he would most definitely miss out on 1 year of NFL salary that could be worth 50m or more.

Williams can get that much and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop him from getting it.

Yeah, I get it, you're lumping in the signing bonus to make it look like a huge difference, and I did address it, by pointing out he's still going to get that signing bonus the following year and average NFL salary per year for the top pick is ~9 mil. It doesn't matter what age he plays to, QBs are playing for that 2nd big contract. And there is certainly no guarantee he'll ball out and earn the big 2nd contract so any more money he earns before coming to the NFL, is absolutely advantageous.

You are making shit up. Show me a credible report that he is getting 8m in NIL?

It is more advantageous to get in the NFL sooner and get yo your 2nd contract sooner. Duh!
