How would it be a gigantic win? This would be a terrible return for Crawford. You're comfortable with Darling and Leighton? Please.

He seems to hate Crawford and would rather start anyone but him in net.

I think this makes us a better team. Particularly if Saad was planning to entertain other offers. Can't afford that. Anisimov gives us a better bonafide #2 than Richards or Vermette. More flexible cap now. Could end up keeping Sharp and just trading Bickel. Thanks Brandon Saad for helping us get 2 cups and good luck with your career. U derseve the raise u want, no doubt. Now I'll go read the thread.

Honestly, this is a pretty good post. I don't necessarily agree 100%, but the overall point is solid. In the end, it makes us a better team.

I don't think Saad deserves 6.5 million. At least not yet. Two and half years is usually not enough time decide if a player is worth that much money.

**** but Saad was the fastest guy on the team that counts for something. He was fast and had learned to finish. He was becoming devastating. He was a core player.
Dano looks like a Hawk, and its going to be fun to watch the skill of Teuvo/Kane/Toews/Panarin/Dano/Hossa together.

We still have 9 top 6 Forwards on the roster in the present moment, 10 if you count Versteeg. Gotta trade 2 more.

I think they can keep Sharp. I also think that if there is 2 forwards that are gonna go, it's Bickell and Versteeg. I wouldn't be surprised if Morin is involved in a deal, either.

Will see what Saad gets paid. Could end up being on target or more than 6.5 million. I think Stan made the best of a difficult situation and made the team better. At least Saad didn't fall into DTs lap. All hail Stan.

Lol at the last part. And I agree, still have to see what Saad signs for.

Would you rather pay Saad $6.5M or Crow $6M?

Crow has earned 6M a year despite what you think. Saad on the other hand is useless for long stretches, especially in the playoffs.

I don't know what I was more shocked by, that Saad was traded unexpectedly or that he believes he's worth 6.5mil AAV. Bowman did the only thing he could with that ludicrous asking price: He chose with his head and not his heart.

Ideally, neither. If I have to choose, then Saad

yes, who else is going to replace those 10 failed backhand attempts each game?
