Pittsburgh is +550 now, really good odds considering we've heard nothing from Atlanta.

  1. Chicago Bears
  1. New York Rangers
  1. Syracuse Orange
Bears send a 2nd rounder to Pittsburgh for Claypool—massive L for Poles

Steelers send a 2nd rounder to Bears for Fields and he finally puts it together— another massive L for Poles in a Steelers trade

As a Bears fan, I fully expect this to happen because of course it will happen.
It's pick #20 or it's their 2nd rounder and 4th rounder and Jaylen Warren.

This may be a crazy idea so please CCS tell me what an idiot I am for proposing this....

But what if Fields and CW are BOTH good?

What if Poles is a big fan of BOTH of them?

And what if Poles just thinks CW is better?

Stupid stupid I know.....
the last part is interchangeable for the record...

So let me get this straight…one of the best head coaches currently in the game is a big fan of Justin Fields, but many here are ready to move on from JF1 for a rookie QB?

Something isn’t mathing correctly here
That "one of the best coaches in the game" also drafted Mason Rudolph, K.Pickett and signed M.Trubisky sooooooooooooooooo......................................

Also was apparently a fan of Trubisky and Pickett. So there's that.

What if Poles keeps both?

A rookie red-shirt for Caleb and that final make or break year for Fields. If Fields matches Poles' fandom with a great season, what he is worth is MUCH more than a potential 2nd rounder in 2024.

Or what if since Poles thinks both will be good that it's the right move to just reset the QB clock since both will be good?

Craziness i know. :shifty:

Stupid stupid I know.....

Yep, if they did no thave the 1 pick I don't think there would be any question other than when is he getting extended.

I re-watched several of this years games in the last few days. I really believe the kid could break out next year. After every game I had two thoughts:

1: Justin played better than I remembered
2: Everyone else not named DJ or Cole played worse

Well, since he's been there they've drafted:
Dennis Dixon
Landry Jones
Josh Dobbs
Mason Rudolph
Kenny Pickett
and some guy I've never heard of

And acquired:
Mitch Trubisky

Not sure that is a very good record in that department.

"Field's STINKS and I'll die on that hill...

... but Poles better trade that bum and get some other team to give us a 1st or 2nd rounder, because he's worth at least that much!

...if not, Poles can just go with him out the door, because SAME OL BAAAAEERS!
"

(I agree with you some folks are absolutely senseless)

No, I would certainly hope he does, but nothing about liking JF means he would rather have him than the top rookie QB in this class, as you attempted to imply.

is mike tomlin the GM?
if mike tomlin likes a player at qb, after 15+ years as head coach, do you not think they go in that direction? you think they just have mike tomlin out window shopping and coming back to the GM to beg like a 10 year old child? that must mean mike tomlin's opinion on player evals isn't even strongly considered by the org he's worked for for 15+ years if you apply "he isnt a GM" logic. is that how that organization works? what is his opinion of caleb williams? is it higher or lower than fields? i dont think you're making a very good point with this

lmao im the one not making a good point? your response pointed out two extremes of the options, when like most things the truth is somewhere in the middle. of course a GM will listen to a HC like Tomlin for input, however that does not mean that whatever Tomlin says is exactly what the GM will do. otherwise, they would let Tomlin have all personnel decisions but they dont.

again you said "tomlin is not the GM" in response to tomlins track history at QB with him as HC. it is awful. so i guess, again, do you actually believe tomlin is responsible or not responsible for those horrible QBs and what great acquisition has he made at QB that would lead you to believe differently? just name one QB he has added in 15+ that inspired that for you if you would

so your response to tomlin is not the GM is to point out acquisitions made by the GM not named Tomlin?? calm down, sparky

how does this point to anything Tomlin gets credit/blame for in regard to the QB position?
